In the league game, we suffered from a couple of injuries. However, we were also playing the best team in the league, they got in amongst us early and we'd never scored enough runs. Not when they've got the best batsman in the league, opener Locke.
I knew I'd probably lose this one, but I think we can make a good stab of it in division 5 next season, as long as we can beat Boro Does Cricket in the last game of the season.
There may be some more shakeups in the team over the next couple of weeks, as I look for my best starting XI.

You've probably already said but what happens to the 3rd and 4th place teams?

It looks like the top two go up automatically, while 3rd and 4th play in a promotion playoff against 6th and 5th from a league above.
This changes in the higher leagues - there are the same number of leagues at levels VI and V (256 in each), but this number cuts down to a quarter at each of the next levels. Thus:
Level I - 1 league Level II - 4 leagues Level III - 16 leagues Level IV - 64 leagues Level V - 256 leagues Level VI - 256 leagues
In level V and above, only the top team has a chance of promotion. The best of them go up automatically, replacing 7th and 8th placed teams in the league above, while the rest have to play off against 5th and 6th places teams in the league above.
I hope that makes sense.
There has been another interesting development this week - Boro Does Cricket have dropped out of the league, to be replaced by The Real Deal. We really should grab 2nd spot now...

I reckon so, if it's anything like HT and the players given to the new manager are the basic ones. Promotion by default.... nice.

Aye. Stables are now the only team in the league who have been around longer than our lot. Two teams have changed hands twice since I've started playing. I wonder what the turnover rate is at level V.
