I vote either Chile or China, due to lack of Blue and White shirts...

It seems I might be able to take part belatedly so I shall cast my vote for "Anywhere's fine by me".
S&M, of course, has a lot of "amusing" off colour nicknames to recommend it. But I quite fancy South America as I've only ever played in Brazil.

Finland?
Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Slovenia?
S&M does have a pun in it somewhere...

I'm really not bothered, I'd manage in Outer Mongolia if it was available.

We've done Russia with Chita, I personally don't fancy Fiinland after my recent Iceland stint. I'm OK with Slovakia or Slovenia though.

I cranked up FM2005 last night to see what the crack is. I spent two hours on it and didn't even get to a game.
I'm afraid I just don't have that kind of time- the game is all very detailed and all that, but it is just far far too convoluted. It engendered no joy whatsoever.
You're going to have to count me out of an FM2006 challenge.
I'll maybe crank up 01/02 or somesuch and play a normal game instead.

Pops, don't forget that the first part of a game is always tiresome, and it always takes a little time to get into it. Once you get into the season, things start happening and it's more fun to play. The same is true of any version of C/FM, I think.

Well, it may partly have been unfamiliarity- the search filters were a nonsense. But I can't see how, if you wanted to do a decent job, you wouldn't have to devote a big chunk of your life to it. Not an option at the moment.

Fair enough, Pops. Although I would echo what Boony said, once you get out of the transfer windows, the game can whizz along quite nicely. Especially in leagues where there's little activity anyway, like Belgium. I would guess that if we were to only have S&M open, then the game would play quite nicely.

Also, Pops, it's not like many of the rest of us can devote large chunks of our lives to it. I for one will not be whizzing through the seasons as I have plenty of other things on my plate at the moment. But I will still give it a crack, partly because the challenge aspect is always entertaining.

I've found that it's the initial part of the initial game that takes the biggest chunk, once you have training schedules set and baseline tactics, then they can just be imported into new games, yeah the search for staff and players is a pain at first, but I think that's the same on all the versions. It's just the familiarisation process of finding your way around the new layout that was tiresome at first. It took a while to get used to, but I'm happy with it now.

I imagine it's the initial haul, yes. I'll try and get into it. I've always hated training schedules, they're silly.

Not that we're trying to force you or anything, pops. But, y'know, it's for your own good...

I could forward what training schedules I use if it helps. They'll need importing one at a time.

Don't trust him! He'll have changed them all so that all your strikers get broken feet and ruptured cruciate ligaments. That's how competitive he is...

Boony how could you suggest such a thing. He's got the one's I use. The only thing that he might need to adjust is the overall training level slider, between pre-season and season. I have it set to just in Heavy for Pre-season and the top end of Medium when the season starts, that seems to cut down on in-season injuries.
