Nice one, fella! Is this the end of the road, or are you building a dynasty?

I think he needs to stay for at least one more season to defend the title, then see what happens.

Jacksonville have offered me a job and I'm tempted, but then I notice that last year's first rounder Roger Ellwood has been reassessed by my scouts who now think he has a Pass Rush Technique rating of... 100, which tempts me to stay.

100 out of what?
Jeez, that's some ability, right there. Can't you go to JAX and then try to trade for him with some magic beans and a pony? You've got plenty of those, right?

Aye, he's not bad considering I didn't get him until the end of the first round. He's now the highest rated defensive lineman to come out of last year's first round.

Well, he's not bad, but he'd be shit at the New York Marathon.

Why, do you have to do run defence in the Marathon?

Yes. In case Zola Budd makes a comeback.

I thought Paula Radcliffe was the only one who had the runs in the marathon.

I thought Paula Radcliffe was the only one who had the runs in the marathon. It's lucky his pass rushing technique is so good, otherwise things could get nasty.

I'm still conflicted about what to do here. I wish I could see the draft class before making a decision. If there was a serious impact player available in the top three I'd head to Jacksonville. If not, then I'll give defending the title a go with the Raiduhs.

Yes, I took the option to take over a new team. Jacksonville came a begging at the door as a team trying to find its feet after the retirement of Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and boasting just two winning records and one playoff appearance since 2008, the last of which came seven years ago. There are some bright spots on the roster, (very bright in the form of Ricky Mabe), but the defence is in need of a lot of help. Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Minnick, K.C. 3 QB 3 44 60 1 Bernard, Harvey 11 QB 4 44 59 -- Stokes, Junior 18 QB 5 35 40 -- Doyle, Mack 4 QB 9 30 30 -- ------------------------------ A hideous blast from the past in the shape of Mack Doyle who was on the Raiders when I took over, but thankfully his contract is up and he won't be getting a new one.
The future is probably KC Minnick, a Chad Pennington-alike with good accuracy but no deep arm, although he's garbage in the two minute drill.
We'll be giving a contract to Bernard too. He has skills in the same area as Minnick, which will likely force us toward a West Coast Offence, but he's also an insane scrambler which could lead to matchup problems for defences. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Lacasse, Jamal 26 RB 6 75 75 3 Bobbitt, Daniel 33 RB 4 37 41 -- Schultz, Dennis 37 RB 3 37 41 1 Burroughs, Will 24 RB 7 35 35 -- Tesson, Wade 46 RB 4 29 33 -- Hillis, Peyton 38 FB 12 41 41 -- ------------------------------ Jamal Lacasse is very fast in a straight line and will be the feature back despite failing to yet complete a season without an injury. He's Fly-esque, without being anywhere near the receiver my former Raider player is.
Schultz will spell Lacasse to give the main back a breather, while Bobbitt will be cut off.
Peyton Hills is a solid blocker. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Gunn, Ed 5 TE 3 65 83 3 Copeland, Sherman 87 TE 2 57 74 3 Morley, Lewis 80 TE 5 37 37 -- Blodgett, Cornell 88 TE 5 37 37 --
------------------------------ One of the Raiders I'm going to miss most is Tight End Geoff Connor, but Ed Gunn is going to do his best to make me feel better, by being bloody awesome. Gunn has 109 receptins in his two year career.
Sherman Copeland is also good and is a run blocking beast. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Savage, Brant 86 FL 11 49 49 1 Delgadillo, Horace 85 FL 3 41 41 -- Shoate, Dan 82 FL 11 36 36 -- Kriewaldt, Arnold 89 SE 3 36 36 -- Connell, Johnny 81 SE 11 34 34 -- ------------------------------ The first sign of real weakness for the Jags as there's no one of any real quality here. Alleged number one receiver would probably have only made it onto Special Teams in Oakland. I hope there's a marquee receiver at #4 in the draft, so that I can start my imitation of the Detroit Lions. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr O'Neill, Wes 51 C 11 60 60 1 Iparraguirre, Lewis 50 C 2 42 68 2 Ciscone, Curtis 52 C 12 42 42 --
------------------------------ O'Neill is good, but may find himself as trade bait if anyone will offer me a stupidly high pick, as Iparraguirre is ready to take over and has an awesome name. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Shapiro, Neil 64 LG 9 73 73 2 Gleason, Clay 60 LG 8 40 40 -- Sanford, Ed 61 LG 5 35 50 -- ------------------------------ One good guard... Did I actually leave the Raiders, or was that all a dream? |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Smoczyk, Clay 66 LT 7 50 50 2 Mabe, Ricky 68 RT 5 95 95 1 Frederick, Gabe 65 RT 5 37 37 -- ------------------------------ Hey everyone, say hello to Ricky Mabe, first overall pick in 2015 who is about to cost me an insane amount of money when his contract expires this season. Mabe is rated 97 for run blocking, which is made to look poor by his 100 for pass blocking. He also has 87 for blocking strength and 94 for endurace.
We'll be playing him in both Tackle positions. At the same time. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Glenn, Brad 16 P 9 75 75 1 Corbett, Jake 8 K 7 57 57 -- ------------------------------ Err, they look good enough. Probably. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Harvey, Derrick 96 LDE 12 72 72 1 Testaverde, Dixon 77 LDE 2 26 54 2 Clancy, Devin 70 RDE 4 40 40 1 Kirk, Clyde 71 RDE 5 38 38 --
------------------------------ Derrick Harvey looks like the real deal and everyone else doesn't which, with my propensity for getting all squishy about pass rushing, doesn't bode well for the backup's job security. Harvey is getting old though, so I can't just get rid of everyone right away. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Van Pelt, Bo 76 LDT 8 49 49 -- Duarte, Ernie 78 LDT 2 39 56 2 Qualls, Alonzo 79 RDT 6 52 52 3
------------------------------ In Oakland we were strong up the middle in the front seven and I'd like to get back to that here. It allows us to blitz the linebackers a bit more as we're not too worried about being moved off the line.
|
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr McElreath, Troy 55 MLB 12 41 41 -- Roberts, Bubba 53 MLB 7 39 39 -- Brengel, Reuben 99 MLB 4 33 45 1 Kelley, Marcus 92 MLB 2 29 52 2 Anderson, Van 90 SLB 8 73 73 2 Michael, Dennis 58 WLB 5 38 38 -- Riley, Walt 91 WLB 9 37 37 --
------------------------------ Four middle linebackers is a touch excessive, especially as none of them are really any good. Van Anderson is a brutal hitter on the strong side, which is nice, but neither of the Will backers are good. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Humes, Adrian 31 LCB 3 43 43 2 Bournigal, Ben 28 RCB 7 39 39 -- O'Donnell, Johnnie 43 RCB 5 39 39 -- Larry, Sean 36 RCB 3 29 49 2
------------------------------ Well at least this is familiar - no decent corners here. Humes would make a decent Nickle corner, but he's the best man we have here. He's rated a fat zero for zone coverage, which is nice. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Nelson, Reggie 30 SS 13 62 62 1 Kolker, Aaron 27 SS 4 27 46 --
------------------------------ Reggie Nelson is one of the few players left in the league who were present when it started as he was drafted in 2007. He's still a good run stopped, but he's losing a step in pass coverage. |
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntr Lyons, Casey 34 FS 2 42 56 2 Gibbons, Courtney 49 FS 10 41 41 -- Schmidgall, Jared 20 FS 8 39 39 -- Leicester, Rex 35 FS 3 33 46 2
------------------------------ It's not quite the collection of Free Safeties I had in Oakland, but my secondary strength over there was almost all at this position, so it's a similar situation. Casey Lyons looks good, but will get himself into trouble because his play diagnosis is poor. Rex Leicester has good play diagnosis and good interceptions, but is another Jaguar pass defender who is just garbage in zone cover. |

Nice rundown, s1ut. #4 in the draft and you might have to hope for that next year too. And then trade down a lot and get a bunch of silly offers from silly people. I think you need help. However, it's not as desparate as the Raiders were, IMO, so I'm sure you'll rise to the challenge. GL and KUTGW! :thumb:
