Alexander Gehrt was top scorer in the Shadileague last year. Never heard of the other bloke though.
A bore draw away for us was a step in the right direction. Looks like our counter-attack tictacs paid off as Brentford had the majority of possession but we dominated shots and shots on target. Next game away to slut I get to start all my players pretty much fully fit. Hopefully Jelly will be sporting a new 85+ look in time for the game as well.

First win of the season! Woot. Whoever had this lot before me signed a couple of absolutely gun Swedes. Oooh, I've got Moo's lot on the weekend. First Divot derby of the game? Stu and Moo drew. First game of the season. 0-0.

And I played Deej last night.
In unrelated news: I'm bored with this game now. :moop:

In related news.... because you got tonked? Newcastle: 0-0 away to West Ham, I need to have a think about how to win those games against the not 90+ teams. Rochdale: 1-1 away to Bury. Conceded late on, so I might have to think about that sort of thing in the instructions. Elth: Well done on your up-coming victory.

I won't tell you that I haven't actually made any changes yet Horn.
I'm off to ruin everything today when I change the tic-tacs and make some bids......

Interesting that my "Drawing at 75 mins", which is the fourth instruction I added late yesterday, was the one that kicked in and two of the three subs combined for the winning goal. Well, maybe not interesting, but thought-prompting. A bit.
Still spending!
Yay.

I briefly toyed with taking another team- Leeds in Moo's Newcastle league. But really think that might be pushing the boundary, especially when I lose my bored streak at gazebo.

Isn't there anyone in the top flight left, Pops? Might be interesting to lock horns with "decent" teams. Mind you, half of your Swindon team would get in my Toon team.

There may be one or two. I am a bit allergic to top division entry, to be honest...

And never mind my Swindon team- what about Luque playing for Carlisle!

It's about as good as he'll get. He's unemployed at the moment, I think.

Pops - Leeds might not be a bad idea, we might play next season anyway.

I'll see how bored I get. Ran out of money with Swindon, so need to spend some more....
Just been browsing the amazing soccerway.com. Poor Igea. Relegated from Lega Pro 2 last year, having played 34, won 1, drawn 10, lost 23 and a minus 50 goal difference (24-74).
Bless.

"Danny GLOVER has shocked Rochdale fans by moving to Weymouth for £10,400."
Never mind the Rochdale fans what about fans of Lethal Weapon.

I saw that. That little newsfeed has been a Rochdale exodus, the last 24 hours. Rats. Ships. Etc.

Ok, I've bitten the bullet and taken charge of Moo Derby. And oh my Good Lordie. I need, I estimate, at least 11 new players.
Yum.

My other team is in a Scottish league with only ten teams in the division. In retrospect that would have been ripe for a divot takeover - we'd be having all-divot derbies most of the time. The main drawback is that most of the teams have been left unattended for 16 seasons which means that everyone has £60m+.
Of course now I've loaded the team with a lot of the talent I could find in, mostly, Nowhere Land. I think I ought to come 2nd in division 4 with Livingstone. Sterling have obviously had a lot more money than the rest of us and they've bought a flock of 89-92 rated players, so I presume they will win. Having only 10 teams/division means that the seasons are relatively quick, which is a plus.

I didn't know there was a Scottish league. We should have gone there. Ah well, it's not like this is going to last a season anyway.

if people are genuinely interested in keeping this going and we have 8 then I could be tempted to buy a custom league... Rangers, Newcastle, IFK Gothenburg.... err... New England Revolution... all these teams would be relegated in the first season.

Dunno, mate, it's up to you. I wouldn't pay any extra just to get more teams on board though, even if it is a couple of quid, so that would mean dropping one of my two teams.
How about we give it a few games and see if there is still sufficient interest?

Post by Narcizo on Feb 24, 2011 14:49:18 GMT
Yeah, I would imagine interest will wane within a couple of weeks.
And who would get IFK Gothenburg? It would be (relatively) newly crowned champs Malmö for me.

Good plan. If I am still hanging about this after Easter, it will be a good gauge. I am off to Jamaica and Guyana between 15 March and 10 April, so hell mend the teams...
Just spent 55m quid. Sweet.
