I've thought about this for a fair bit. Some weeks, in fact. I mean, as to whether it is unusual, or mental, or in poor taste... but, well. To hell with it.
I am sure you, being of sound mi knowing me some years in a purely forumic sense, of course, and being among divots, erm.
Anyway. Foibles. I have many. Not least 90s/00s cultural references that dominate my speak on a daily basis... Absolutely figures high (we only ever have "Ooooednesday" in our house in the middle of the week) but there are many others. I am sure other households are the same (smell the chaffing, moo).
As I've said before, I tend to use Lithuanian footballer names a lot. When sending e-mails to myself with little links or info, for example, I tend to call them "Armin Narbekovas". No reason.
One pastime of mine I do daily is sing. Any kind of song, really (but not jazz. I fucking hate jazz), but the main thing is, to keep it interesting (to me) I always replace the word "you" with the word "Jews".
Now this is not a fascist thing. It's a humour thing. It amuses me massively. Try it. It makes me laugh to myself a lot. I've done it for years. So I hope it's not in bad taste, mmmkay.
My other major singing foible is to use the subjects "Shabadi Nonda" and "my mum" interchangeably. Erm... that's trickier to explain. Take... Lost Weekend. "Lost weekend in a hotel in Amsterdam. I met Shabadi Nonda and he ate my mum". That's fairly typical. In fact, in many cases Shabadi is eating my mum. Well, a conceptual mum. Not actually my mum per se.
I'm losing the thread here. Anyway, foibles. Discuss.
FRIDAY!

This is quite bizarre. I like it already. One that springs to mind is that I always answer the home phone in the Homer Simpson stylee of "yelloooow?" I used to answer "Good morning/afternoon/evening, Samiritans" but got caught out when they called me asking for a donation. Oh and when me and the kids (mine or minded) play I Spy, I always answer "elephant" no matter what the "beginning with" is. Errr.... when I'm in the pub and people are waiting for me to finish my pint (rare occurrance), I always declare "Gentlemen! The Queen!" before downing it. Is that what you're after?

Oh hang on... they're coming back to me now, sheesh, i do loads!
I'm usually quite lazy when it comes to getting my barnet cut, so the curls are usually apparent just before snippage. So therefore post-snippage, when someone asks "have you had your hair cut?" I answer "Yeah, but it's not what I asked for" in a Vic Reeves stylee, complete with smoothing it over.

I have so, so many. But I don't actually consciously think about them most of the time, so I can't really remember any...
"Jews" is a fairly common replacement for "you/youse" with my group of friends, so nothing wrong with that. Love Jews! is as good a way as any to express affection for friends.
I tap soda cans three times on the top before opening them, despite being perfectly aware it does absolutely nothing.

Oh! I always open crisp packets upside down. I have a reason for it though... I got done at high school when someone opened my crisps upside down and then turned them the right way up and left them on the table, so when I picked the bag up to open it... whoosh! and the crisps were on the floor. So yeah, that's a foible. I'll get back to you.

Don't let your friends know that's the reason, or some bastard will open them at the top to flip you.

I am sure they will occur when they occur. Which is mice. Glad to hear the Jews are common, elth. Part of it for me comes from having a Norwegian flatmate at uni. Actually, that's why we call Americans "Jankees" and towels "tovells" in our house. Sweet reminisce...

My sister does the can-tapping thing. When I smurked, I used to open a packet of fags and immediately turn the first cig upside down in the pack and smurk it last.
Was also pretty superstitious about the "third light" thing, but that could have been because I liked the WW1 associations with it.
Pops has developed a weird one- she won't have the volume on the telly at any other level that one that ends in "0" or "5". I must ask her about that.

I will also accept numbers ending in 2 on TV volumes.
1, 3 and 4, however, are completely forbidden.

From the League of Gentlemen, we regularly employ "hello Dave" as well as referring to Coke as "canIcant" and often answering numerical questions with "twelvety".
Absolutely brings us the affirmative response "Aaaaaayyyyyyeessss" from Denzil's son, Cadmill.
Anything food-wise that I like is "Yum tum tummity yum tum fittooo" - a Python reference I think.
This is going to be the place where I store my poor foibles in a forumic box.

So yes, I just typed Yum Tum Tummity Yum Tum Fittoo into google. Unsurprising that there were no matches. But I remembered it was a king playing a Hammond organ and his daughter was called Mitzy Gaynor. So eventually found this: arago4.tnw.utwente.nl/stonedead/tv-series/sketches/fz-1972/happy-valley.htmlThe Yum Tummity bit is from the audio version of the sketch, where Terry Jones played the Hammondish king. T'internet- it's made for divotry.

Nowt wrong with 3 or 5. 8 even.
3 actually follows me around in many ways and forms.
Pops, you should look up Chet Baker in the Jazz department. Awesomeness indeed.

I know I've got loads, but the only one that leaps immediately to mind is my habit of singing anything that's got three syllables to the tune of "Robin Hood", ie:
"What time is it?"
"Half past two, half past two, riding through the glen Half past two, half past two, with its band of men, Feared by the bad! Loved by the gooooood! Half past two! Half past two! Half past two!"
This literally never gets old.

It is bizarre and makes me quite glad that I'm a grumpy old git who doesn't have any foibles apart from calling everything Abysmal and liking totally naff songs purely because they annoy people. I'm sure there's more but I can't think of any offhand.

Also: can't believe that game's not over yet. I did mention I'm a bit of a Monty as a General, right? I killed 75% of your forces in turn one and since then I've been dropping in supplies, drilling and ordering my unit structure and as soon as the teak polish for the fore grips on our rifles comes in we'll be over onto the attack.
