You might get lucky and join a human team with better salary. That's kinda why I went there and also (I have now been told) you get better training with a human controlled team. It's easier this way to begin, and see the difference as well. A question* about training: Do you train for all seven days? And do you put in 3 different things for the 3 slots in the day? *The pages kept coming up with an error is the reason I'm asking.

Yes you should. I asked this same question to s1ut too.
Remember, if you train in one discipline for all three sessions in a day, then you get a bonus too, so if possible, it's always best to train that way. However, sometimes you can't, or shouldn't, is your fitness is below a certain level, then the training won't be as successful. Always try to keep your fitness above 80%, preferably a bit higher if you can. You'll find that the day after a game, regular players will always have a full day of fitness training, so that the training for the rest of the week is at a good level.

What are you training to be, s1ut? It looks very similar to Buster Commander's stats and I'm aiming to be a DM.

Right now I'm just training whatever the team goes for, with the odd foray off on my own to train tackling.
The manager doesn't seem to have a clue about what to train though, as we're all over the place. This means you can go ages without popping at all and then you get three or four pops in one week.
He's offered me a new contract for next season, but I haven't signed yet. I'm considering going back to a bot team to get to train what I want at 85%, (instead of 75% whenever I train something other than the team).

Rumour is that all us yoof are going to be sent to play for a feeder team for the season. Not sure how that'll work, but it means we'll all be playing every game (pretty much) and get some nice experience.

Looking at the way you two have developed I'd say you're much better off with a human run team.
I've joined a new team now. One that has 16 players so won't be hit by the less than 11 players problem. I even got a personal "welcome" by one of the human players on the team. Which I duly ignored. The guy obviously has less of a life than I do. To rephrase Groucho Marx "I don't want to be friends with anyone desperate enough to want to be friends with me".

Player interaction helps the morale of the team, Narkle, so it might be an idea to get your happy face on for a little while.

Yes, I'll interact with his football player and try to become his best mate. But I'm not actually replying to the person.

Looking at the way you two have developed I'd say you're much better off with a human run team. You'd think that, but Herman Stammers hasn't been on a human team yet and is rated : Technique : 4 Short Passes : 1 Positioning : 1 Crosses : 1 Speed : 1 Stamina : 1

Ooo! I've just been asked to join a human team. The only problem it looks like they use a 343 or some such nonsense, leaving me no room to develop my artisitic temperament as a fullback (and I'll go no assists, or, for that matter, games). I'm not sure the manager knows what he's doing as the team has been going nowhere but he's clearly been trawling for new players as he's had hordes join on freebies recently. So I'll be joining a team that's not much better than my current one and not playing but reaping the benefit of team training and erm, that's it really.

I think that's what you need to begin with Nark. I'm going to go for either an attacking mid, or a MC. I've yet to decide.
One thing I did see in regards to training, was that having high longshots and something else(shooting or crossing I think) leads to you being a better set piece taker or either freekicks or corners.

I've got off to a great start, 2 goals and MoM. I was played as a strker, but now I'm being told I'm a DL :cab:
It's got to be all down from here.

We've started with a 2-0 loss at home, which is a step forward from last season. I rated a 5, comfortably my best performance yet. So far as I can remember, the team's yet to score a goal since I joined. Scotty "The Albatross" Pepper, they call me. As against that, I've made a new friend - Kristin, who's got 76% looks and 35% intelligence. Which explains why she's happy to hang around with a bloke who's got no house but is paying more than 10% of his monthly wage to maintain his clothes. My morale has plummetted down to 1%. I bought myself a motorbike to help cheer me up, but it's not worked. I think part of the problem is that I haven't called my mum in a month and a half and she's down to 14% happy with me. So I got on my hugely expensive mobile and gave her a bell. Not sure what else to do. My Speed and Finishing are now both 3. Hurrah!

You have to interract with everyone you can find and do the "Having Fun" training to get your morale up. Homer Hawkes keeps his morale up just by being chummy with the teammates. Herman Stammers meanwhile has only got two teammates, so he has to go out and sex up the laydeez once a fortnight to keep from going mad.

I've been Having Fun. I've got an entire day a week set aside for it. I'm still miserable as sin. Marvin, The Paranoid Striker.

Have you tried buying a hang glider? That always cheered me up in NSS.
For christmas one year I bought me mam 17 hang gliders. She was thrilled.

My morale hit the dunny after my team got hammered 9-0 in the cup. If only I'd realised that I should move to a successful team.

I was also contacted by the U18's Australian Manager saying he wants all the young players to join human clubs for better training. He's even offered for to find a club to do this. Though, if they will pay me as much as I'm getting now is questionable. Training might be better though, but would have to depend on what they are taining in.
If you change to another training type, do your stats decrease, or does it take a bit of time for that to happen?

Post by Moo on Jan 10, 2008 21:40:03 GMT
Stats won't decrease. The training they do will assist you more than training on yourself. What you'd need to watch for is being picked for the matches and then losing fitness. When you've lost fitness you don't train as effectively, so you just have to keep the balance right.
Also, if you're in a managed team, you interact with your team mates and that gets your morale waaaay up. And that means you play better. Apparently.

I remember one of you said something about fitness and so I've set the day after a game to all fitness training. As to playing better, 2 goals and MoM isn't good enough?
I think I'm going to take a strategy of getting these stats to 5 and then swapping to something else, get them to 5 and so on. At least until I'm about the spot I want to be at.
Interacting with your team mates? What do you have to do?

Go to your team list, there's an icon, a bit like the MSN icon, click on that and then use your 150 interaction points (renewed daily) to give them positive vibes. Get them up to 100% friend and morale goes up.
I played in a friendly on Weds night, as the DMC and I got a 6/10, which I was pleased with. I set up the first in the 2-0 win.
