We finally land our last 3 recruits:
Dave Frimodt, an offensive guard from Lakewood High School in Saint Petersburg, Florida will join, he's rated at 50- and is 11th best OG in his state.
Tommie Whalen, a wide receiver from Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, another outsider rated at 56+ and 9th best WR in his state will attend the school of life. How we landed him I don't know, he was a reach as he was listed as a red.
Kenyon Davis, a fullback from Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Alabama, has accepted our offer, he's listed as the 69th best in the country and 2nd best in the state for his position that is. He comes with a scout rating of 61.

As we move into 2005 the following emails hit my intray:
Norbert Pupunu, a quarterback, has left your team because of poor grades this year. He was a walk on crap shoot anyway.
Aaron Sudnik of Georgia has been named Coach of the Year for his performance this past season.
Scottie Barker has retired from his position of offensive coordinator.
Reuben Curtis, a defensive tackle, has left your team because of poor grades this year. Anther Walk-on who was useless.
Zack Brock, a punter, has left your team because of a lack of playing time. Probably useless, we have a semi reasonable punter coming in anyway.
Ronald Kennedy, a wide receiver, has left your team because of poor grades this year. I don't recall a WR with that name and can't find him in the original squad list. He can't have been much cop.

In a Staff Overhaul our Syndicate Co-Ordinator is ousted and replaced by Herb LindQuist who is decent in Academic Eligibility and Soliciting for Donations. In the scheduling I manage to arrage games for 2005 and 2006 against Ball State and Alabama-Birmingham. Ranked 95th and 114th respectively.
We start the year in 117th place in teh Power Ranking Charts.

Game MVP: BALL 43 Courtney Langley I thought we'd done enough to nick this, after Ball State scored first we powered into a 21-7 lead by the end of the second quarter. It's then that we lost our way. Drives faltered at vital moments, possibly due to endurance problems. That said, the performance looked much better than last season, even though Ball State are no great shakes themselves, we made a fair few yards in rushing and receiving, something unheard of in 2004. Gordon rushed for 144 yards and a TD, Rhodes threw 2 TD's fro 244 yards and Florez caught for 100 yards, without scoring. We do have a big weakness at OLB and ILB which I really need to improve out for next season and probably for a season or two after that.

Game MVP: TXEP 96 Ed Myers for his 2.5 sacks. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was very welcome, all I cansay is that Alabama-Birmingham must pretty poor to have gone away with a whipping like this. A win early in the season must be a confidence booster, mustn't it? Despite oing down to an early field goal we were playing quite well recovered to take the lead in the 2nd quarter, from there we never really looked back. Rhodes put in a good shift with 223 passing yards and 2 thrown TD's, Gordon put in another fine rushing display with 101 yards and a TD and Rasmusson backed him up well with 2 TD's for 38 rushing yards. There were some solid performances from the receiving corps and Schwartz and Robertson collecting A TD each. Defensively we managed to sack their QB 7 times which probably had a baring on our game.  Let's hope there will be a few more of these type of games, however it will be a long time before we are challenging Boise State for the Conference title. But from little acorns oaks will grow. I had rather hoped that lowering the ticket prics a couple of dollars would have resulted in an increase in ticket sales, it appears that I made a wrong call there, we need more wins for that to happen I guess

Our rushing and passing games were stopped nearly before they started. What's more we had real problems trying to stop their drives, whatever form they took. Looks like Fredrickson will miss this season as well as last season. No danger of me lifting his red shirt again then. Kinky. I can't believe that the biggest win of your (new) career only has the scores in small text. You need to update that, I think. :checkit: Looks like a bit of a struggle for you Coffers, but that's a good thing, right? Something to aim at and all that jazz.... And remember that you struggled a lot in the first few seasons in t'other game. |

Font size has been modified, well spotted Moo. Yes it's a struggle, but I think the biggedt struggle is going to be attracting players. My key pplan is to improve the Sydicate Co-ordinator whenever possible, to get one who will improve the college's academic reputation. Hopefully that way, I'll be able to get a few more outsiders interested. It seemed to work in the first outing. I'm expecting a struglled for at least 4 years, then I hope to see some signgs of improvement as my own recruites take over from the last incumbents. I just hope teh college sees it that way. |
