I downloaded a database pack for BBCF from the Grey Dog forums which updated all of the team names, bowl game names and changed all the logos.
Your 3-0 start, 3-8 finish mirrors my 4-0/6-7 in 2006 quite closely.

Florida Atlantic 14 Bowling Green 43 Florida Atlantic 0 0 7 7 - 14 Bowling Green 10 9 10 14 - 43 In the words of any Conservative MP found wearing ladies suspenders with a satsuma in their mouth and a carrier bag over their head; “this isn’t what it looks like.” Or “mmmph murr murrph mmrr merrr, merrr mruff.” Until the orange is removed. Yes we let in a shed load of points, but our defence actually played pretty well and was only handed its arse because our offence turned the ball over five times, usually so close to their own end zone that all the Hawks had to do was snap the ball and fall over for six points. Our slightly-too-large linebacking corps played very well and the new defensive end pairing of Morales and Bonk, ( Morales and Bonk! A new cop buddy show coming to ITV Two - he's a tough Hispanic immigrant to New York... his partner's a Muppet!), looked dangerous. Unfortunately, the Hawk receivers were pretty good and while we could just about keep a lid on them by playing a variety of man coverages, the biggest defensive lesson from this game is that playing zone defence = touchdown for other team. Playing a Dime Deep Zone against three receivers and watching one of them find a hold in the zone big enough for Moo to drive through time and again was disheartening. On offence, the bright spots were Robert Yang and the suggestion that we might have something approaching an offensive line again with Erik Ewing at Center, as Yang gained 125 yards on 28 carries. Unsurprisingly, Chris Parks also gets merit for his usual trick; six catches, 179 yards, two touchdowns. Parks set a team record that will probably stand for a very long time, when he took a short slant pass 96 yards for a third quarter touchdown. ScoringFirst Quarter BGSU TD 09:47 7-0 Samuel Krebs 30 YD Pass from Michael Richards (Arthur Lambert Kick). BGSU FG 04:47 10-0 Arthur Lambert 48 YD Second Quarter BGSU TD 10:15 16-0 Todd Lewis 3 YD Pass from Michael Richards (Arthur Lambert Kick Failed). BGSU FG 00:37 19-0 Arthur Lambert 37 YD Third Quarter BGSU FG 09:17 22-0 Arthur Lambert 30 YD BGSU TD 05:50 29-0 Peter Wiseman 11 YD Run (Arthur Lambert Kick). FAU TD 01:24 29-7 Christopher Parks 96 YD Pass from Peter Mims (David Pittman Kick). Fourth Quarter FAU TD 11:03 29-14 Christopher Parks 35 YD Pass from Peter Mims (David Pittman Kick). BGSU TD 09:04 36-14 Peter Wiseman 5 YD Run (Arthur Lambert Kick). BGSU TD 04:03 43-14 Antonio Odell 4 YD Pass from Bryan Choi (Arthur Lambert Kick). Game MVPChris Parks is voted MVP – a feat that takes some doing when your team lost by 29 points. InjuriesEnsuring we have a week off between our first and second games means we’ll have no injuries for our next match up. Spending $100,000 on medical and $75,000 on conditioning also helps.

Tough game. The score really only tells one side of it. Game MVP shows another. Looks like this season will be more promising against the teams you need to beat than last season. At least that's what I"m seeing from this season so far. Injuries are way down from last, meaning you made an excellent call on how much you spent on medical and conditioning? Do you know if you've overspent on them, or underspent still?

The medical thing seemd quite important, so I took it at the best I could afford level and abandoned scouting the Western USA. Similarly coaching and conditioning, have no idea how much of it is tied to the coaches ability though.

Florida Atlantic 13 Texas El Paso 10Florida Atlantic 0 3 3 7 - 13 UTEP 0 3 0 7 - 10 Before the season I'd decided to cut some financial corners this year, ditching west coast scouting and cutting back on the money for the college program scouting. I didn't realise that this meant I'd have a poorer idea about my own players. That's the thing with new games I guess. The way to find out is to do and then to swear. As a result I'd been starting freshman kicker David Pittman - a decision that nearly costs me this game. Against Bowling Green Pittman had missed a 24 yard chip shot with the score 7-0 to the Hawks and we wouldn't get another chance to get on the score board in that game until it was well out of control. In this game Pittman lands two field goals, but misses three others, leaving us sweating into the final minutes as Coffers' TCY bunch drive down the field looking for the three to tie the scores after recovering the onside kick when they scored a late touchdown. Thankfully Free Safety Bill Farmer sniffs out a crossing route in the last minute and steps in for the interception that seals the victory. After a semi-promising performance last week, our young offensive line does ok again. Rob Yang is held to just 49 yards on 23 carries, but his back up; Blake Ray gets 84 yards on just 14 carries. Yang did score our only touchdown of the day however, putting us ahead 13-3 in the fourth with a 30 yard grab from Peter Mims. Mims' fellow quarterback Mike Thornton managed to get through an entire game without a bad throw for the first time in his career, but both passers were routinely poor as ever. Still, a win is a win, we're back to 1-1 and Pittman will be sent back to the bench, regardless of what our scouts tell us. ScoringFirst Quarter Second Quarter FAU FG 09:57 3-0 David Pittman 31 YD UTEP FG 06:02 3-3 Trent Brown 22 YD Third Quarter FAU FG 00:00 6-3 David Pittman 33 YD Fourth Quarter FAU TD 09:26 13-3 Robert Yang 30 YD Pass from Peter Mims (David Pittman Kick). UTEP TD 01:32 13-10 William Evans 5 YD Pass from Thomas Lewis (Trent Brown Kick). Game MVPWilliam Farmer gets the nod for three tackls, one interception, two fumbles forced and a pass defended. Injuries Doubtful : Gordon Carter - LB - Foot (Torn Tendon).

Florida Atlantic 25 Troy 24Florida Atlantic 10 0 2 13 - 25 Troy 10 7 0 7 - 24 Bombs away! For this game the two sides wheel out a trebuchet each and spend the game flinging the ball from one end of the field to another. Five touchdown passes in the game and the one that goes 42 yards is the shortest. It's also the one which gives the Trojans a 24-12 lead which they still hold with only seven minutes left in the game. Fortunately, seven minutes is plenty of time for Peter Mims to fling in scoring passes of 52 and 55 yards to Brandon Johnson and Chris Parks respectively. In the first quarter Mims hit Jo McClain for a 54 yard score. Considering we lost the turnover battle by four, (6-2), the win is very unexpected. We win by a point and can thank linebacker Gaylord Gonzalez for that, as he stuffed Josh Burgess in the end zone for a two point safety. ScoringFirst Quarter TROY FG 13:07 3-0 Wendell Fletcher 33 YD FAU TD 10:34 7-3 Joseph Mcclain 54 YD Pass from Peter Mims (Calvin Taylor Kick). TROY TD 06:21 10-7 Manuel Jones 1 YD Run (Wendell Fletcher Kick). FAU FG 02:03 10-10 Calvin Taylor 32 YD Second Quarter TROY TD 08:37 17-10 John Harrison 64 YD Pass from Rodney Mcneil (Wendell Fletcher Kick). Third Quarter FAU SAF 08:17 17-12 Gaylord Gonzalez stuffed Josh Burgess in the end zone for a safety. Fourth Quarter TROY TD 12:54 24-12 John Harrison 42 YD Pass from Rodney Mcneil (Wendell Fletcher Kick). FAU TD 06:54 24-19 Brandon Johnson 52 YD Pass from Peter Mims (Calvin Taylor Kick). FAU TD 03:29 25-24 Christopher Parks 55 YD Pass from Peter Mims (2 Pts Failed) Game MVPFreshman defensive end Felix Bonk is given the game ball despite managing just one tackle, because he also forced a fumble, hurried the quarterback one and intercepted a pass, which is pretty rare for a DE. Injuries Questionable : Richard Figueroa - DT - Fractured Clavicle. Questionable : Ronald Burgess - TE - Eye (Fractured Orbital) Questionable : Gordon Carter - LB - Foot (Torn Tendon). Questionable : Marvin Murphy - TE - Dislocated Elbow.

Florida Atlantic 21 Temple 9Florida Atlantic 7 7 0 7 - 21 Temple 3 0 6 0 - 9 I'm the king of the owls! Provided you don't count Rice. Anyway, this was very surprising for me as not only are Temple a better team, but Peter Mims manages just under a quarter before he suffers a complete ligament tear in his throwing elbow which means this may well be our last win of the season. In his absence Mike Thornton and redshirt Robert Barton fail to hit on 50% of their passes. Both do manage to complete touchdown passes though, to Chris Parks and Don Cannon. This was another game where the new o-line did ok for Blake Ray, (10 carries, 54 yards), but not so much for the primary back Rob Yang, (28 carries, 56 yards). Yang did score our second touchdown of the day but his vision is definitely holding him back as he consistently misses the gaps that could have led to bigger gains. ScoringFirst Quarter TEMP FG 12:02 3-0 Jacob Huber 26 YD FAU TD 06:52 7-3 Donald Cannon 15 YD Pass from Mike Thornton (Calvin Taylor Kick). Second Quarter FAU TD 05:58 14-3 Robert Yang 1 YD Run (Calvin Taylor Kick). Third Quarter TEMP FG 09:09 14-6 Jacob Huber 33 YD TEMP FG 04:04 14-9 Jacob Huber 34 YD Fourth Quarter FAU TD 05:54 21-9 Christopher Parks 33 YD Pass from Robert Barton (Calvin Taylor Kick). Game MVPYang is given the MVP for 112 total yards and a touchdown. Injuries Questionable : Richard Figueroa - DT - Fractured Clavicle. Questionable : Ronald Burgess - TE - Eye (Fractured Orbital) Questionable : Gordon Carter - LB - Foot (Torn Tendon). Questionable : Marvin Murphy - TE - Dislocated Elbow. Questionable : William Bowling - DE - Broken Jaw. Out : Peter Mims - QB - Elbow (Complete Ligament Tear) === I don't think I can spend any more on the medical services without bankrupting the school.
