Aye, I think it's the nationality thing that does that Moo. (i heard about someone who included all Italians) Although it is perfectly possible that it buggers the newgens as well I don't think I ever got past 2010 in FM so it was a bit of a non-issue for me. But I'd have thought that if you spread them around the world you won't get any favouritism for one country. I started using them so the European Cups wouldn't be a complete walk-over for teams from your league but judicious use of it can create interesting players that you will only see on a huge database and it also opens up a lot of free agency talent after the first year when all the big clubs release all their young crappies (who are more than good enough to play for you).
I guess it sort of upsets the balance and makes it easier for you (as you're better able to exploit the glut of freebies/loanees than the AI) but in my book it makes it more fun and that's the main thing.

"They don't want to read about it" Do you know, I really hate elitist fucks, I really do. I was always proud that GR had a relaxed atmosphere and flexibility was the watchword. It was such an un-cliquey clique. I mean, there is a massive difference between writing about signing Ronaldinho for Man U for £60million pounds and taking SJ Ver to obscurity. If they actually had the courage of their convictions, they would be working out mileage costs between Wakefield and Macclesfield and deducting that from the wages of their latest undiscovered gem. Bah. Jeezt, rant city. I just hate fucking holier-than-thou bastards.

A very fair point Pops. The avatar, not the rant about Sping. Although I do agree with that too to a certain extent.
Well, I suppose when (not "if", Pops, you're doing this fooking challenge) we do thi thing, if we say what we are and what we're not doing we should be fine. So if Narkle wants to include the German, Dutch, Belgian and Engerlish leagues "so he can carry on a career" then that's fine. We'll just call him a cheaty poof when he signs Chelski Bollock on his VISA card.

Interesting, then, that 6.0.2 doesn't seem to exist on the SIGames site. They only have 6.0.1 and 6.0.3 available...

I'm on Pops with the searching bit, I don't search for specific players but the scouts turn up so much rubbish that I usually ignore them after a season or two anyway. To ensure that I cannot search for a specific player I now click the setting that generates random player names at startup.
But I tag along with whatever rules everyone agrees to. As far as I'm concerend the fun is in the story/update line rather than the competition.
Oh I'm currently running on 6.0.2, I have the 6.03 download ready but haven't installed it yet.

Oh, I have the 6.0.2 patch downloaded, I'm not sure how I'd get it to everyone though, it's over 72Mb.

72Mb. Hah. Broadbeaned puffs. In that case, I wouldn't have to send it to you, if you didn't want it.

Or, thinking about it, s1ugt might not add a cd with the patches on it...

So, revised rules are:
(1) All story/update threads to go in this forum (2) Game specifications (patch, database size, background leagues, included teams etc) to be given at the top of your thread (3) No player tipping - all players/coaches/etc must have nicknames in the threads, and in any screenshots. It would therefore help if you nickname them in the game... (4) Any player/staff search rules you're imposing on yourself must be made fairly obvious in the thread (scouts only, well known and regional players page, etc)
Again, these are still open for discussion. Do they seem ok?

I can get it here at work, yes. Then need to find the USB stick that my cack-handed, slack-jawed staff tend to lose.

A cack-handed stick and a slack-jawed staff conjure all kinds of foreign mental images.
