Right, lads. We all had great fun predicting the World Cup scores, didn't we? Well OK, s1ut did, the cheaty poof, but I distinctly remember someone saying that they would love to do that sort of thing for the forthcoming season. OK, so maybe that was the him again, but finally an email arrived from betdirector.com that sent me that link to the new season of prediction leagues.
(NOTE: You don't have to open a betting account with them to play this game!)
Basically, they choose 10 games per Saturday that you have to predict on. The scoring is the same as that in the WC predictions league we used, 1 point for a result, 3 points for the exact score.
With this being online, you can do this at your own leisure and you don't need sweary monkeys like me badgering you to hurry up. You can also predict games for up to three weeks, in case you are off on your holidays or something. So if you log in now, you can do weeks 1 to 3.
If there are no top flight games to predict, then last season, you had to predict the internationals, like in Week 3, for instance.
I don't have to do anything other than predict my scores and tell you what the Private League details are.
First though you need to register your details using the above link, give your team name, that sort of rubbish and then on the left hand side is a link to "Join a private league", the best one obviously being:
Name: Pantfish
Password: canute
Not very imaginative, I know, but there you are. For your perusal, here are the first lot of fixtures for Saturday 19th August.
Arsenal v Aston Villa
Bolton Wanderers v Tottenham
Everton v Watford
Sheffield Utd v Liverpool
West Ham Utd v Charlton Athletic
Chelsea v Manchester City
Manchester Utd v Fulham
Rangers v Hearts
St Mirren v Aberdeen
Inverness CT v Celtic
As you can see, a bit of a mix. So crack on and join in......
