Fortunately it is only Arizona. I can only see one team winning there. [/Kelvin Koolgan]

And I'm right as our defence shows unexpected resiliance to lead us to a 20-7 win. Go to the game centre and the on-line boxscores. If you wantSo that's all well and good. 3 MP leagues, 3 away wins at divisional rivals. The game obviously likes to lull me into a false sense of security. Now it's time to get hammered in SF by Miami. Of all teams.

So we followed our opening day win with a pathetic loss to Miami 21-3 and after a bit of offensive tinkering to try and mend the fact that our offence played like a wet trout we beat Detroit 48-21. Which was nice. My Quarterback achieved the maximum qb rating after throwing for over 400 yards and 4 TDs.
So tonight it's a big inter-divisional game vs the Rams who are 2-1, just like us.

4-1 going into our bye week baby! Admittedly we haven't exactly been facing the toughest opposition but I'll takes them where I can gets them. See our success in the On-line box score section to the leftThat's one more win than the team managed in the whole of last year. I rule!

Unfortunately I have been unable to KUTGW as you put it as I've lost the last two games. I could take losing to the 5-0-1 Cowboys despite out gaining them, but losing to the 1-4 Seahawks despite out-gaining them was a little bit too galling. Bollocks! Arizona are now 4-4 while we're 4-3. I need to beat the Giants to keep ahead of the Cards.
Penalties and drives that explode just outside the opponents' 30-yard line are killing me.

Two more losses mean that we've lost the lead in the division to Arizona (5-4) and have to beat them next week at our place to keep pace with them. If we lose it will be time to look to draft position, erm, I mean, give rookies some playing time.

Huzzah! It looks as though I've found the coffee of FOF. Or, more accurately given the complete over-dependence on extreme offence, the 5UaDtW of FOF. Simply put the only offensive play I want to see is one that will guarantee us at least 10 yards. And it's worked so far as we squeak past the Cardinals 28-27 and then beat the Pats in their own backyard 27-19. Huzzah for us! We're now 6-5 while the Cards are 5-6 but we hold the tie-break over them having swept them.
Extensive testing indicates that this gameplan is about 25% more likely to result in a win than your bog-standard "proper" gameplan. Presuming that the opponents don't gameplan for it with a poofy ultra-pass defence gameplan. Fortunately there seems to be only about 6 people who actively gameplan in this league so I'm all set. Shame I blew my 1.5 pick on a running back who will never see any action until his pass receiving skillz improve enough for him to be our passing down back. Or that I gave a whacking great contract to our run-blocking expert guard. But what can you do?

A string of 4 losses where we outperform our opponents three of the times but still wind up losing does that for you.
The taking parts more during the off-season when you can make trades and whatnot.

And so it comes to pass that the 49ers, under my helm, fly back into the play-offs as champs of the NFC West. A string of 6 wins, some of which I didn't use my cheaty tictacs in, sees me through. To wild rejoicing by all and sundry. Unfortunately my offensive line has been, not decimated, three-fifths-imated by injury so we have little to no chance of doing much in teh play offs. Bummer. I've also decided to skirt away from using my cheaty tictacs as much as possible. Because other people might cotton on and start doing the same thing. Which would be gay. I shall store it away for special occasions and children's bah mitzvahs and such like. Blah Blah blah Online Box Scores. Blah Blah Blah

We're hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round this evening. With a 7 game winning streak behind us and a 11-5 record compared to their 8-1-7 we should be clear favourites. Unfortunately they have an ungodly running game while my run defence has been teh bo11ox while they have the best pass defence in the league and we can't run the ball for toffee. So we're fücked.
I had been hoping that Arizona would beat the Rams to take the final wild card spot but they lost despite the form, victims of the inter-sport "new management" syndrome as the new Rams owner lead his franchise to victory. Bah!
Basically I've gone and given myself a poor draft position by being too good during the season (despite a valiant effort to lose some - if not all - of our last three games. The poofs even won with 0 seconds left of overtime in the last, meaningless, game of the regular season). And still we won't get anywhere in the play-offs. Gah!

So the off-season seems to have picked up. We've traded our way out of the 1st round of the draft (1.25) that looked like a load of bollocks for us and have a dubiously talented Giants 1st round and 3rd round pick next year to show for it. I can now sleep through the early parts of the draft which has to be a bonus.
Then I traded aging, not really all that good Kevan (Kevin) Barlow and my 3rd round pick next year for a pro-bowl linebacker. Which was nice.

I've finally broken my MP League hoodoo. In 4 previous starts I've won the opening game against a divisional rival and then lost the following game against one of the year's inter-divisional opponents. Every single time (yes the fixture-fixing AI is a bit, erm, rudimentary). However that's all in the past as we spank Tennessee 18-15.
With 2 1/2 minutes left and trailing 15-13 I raised a perplexed eyebrow when my head coach decided to punt on 4th and 1 on the Titans' 46 yard line. Particularly when the Titans had been hogging the clock all game long thanks to a moderately successful running game. And my punter had been pants all game long.
Luckily for me it turned out to be a masterstroke of genius. The punt was downed on their 1 yard line and two plays later Julian Peterson caught their running back in the end zone for the safety. We returned the resulting free kick to the 50 and drove smartly into comfortable field goal range for the win. So let's hope the head coach chappy forgets the cries of "I'm sacking the tosser!" emanating from my general direction after I saw the punt team coming out.
2-0 it is then. Unfortunately next week we reap the benefits of coming first in our division by having to face NFC Champs Philadelphia on the road.

I realise I haven't bragged, I mean, updated you about the doings of California's greatest and I'm sure you're waiting with breathe abaited to hear tales of my derring-doings.
So we've now played 8 games this year. Guess how many we've won. Go on. You'll never get it. OK then I'll tell you. We've won 8 games. Yup-sirree-Bob. That's 8-0 for the 49ers. Which, I hasten to brag/point out, is already better than the sorry loser who controlled them before me managed over the course of an entire season.
It's all down to a) the best pass defence in the league (only team to allow less than 50% completion rate) and b) our head coach being excellent at motivation and having a load of good personal chemistry on the roster. This means that we generally tend to win the close games (there's been about 4 of those this year), sort of like having wall-to-wall excellent morale in CM9798.
We (and of course by we I mean "I") rock.
