Ha! Get in you beauty! !11!!!! Yes indeedy ladies and gentlemen, it's the win that ought to see us into the play-offs, at the bottom, Week 15 New York at Columbus. You'll note that the game has thrown up its metaphorical hands at my antics and plumped for Bruce as MVP, presumably because he managed to avoid throwing an interception. I, on the other hand, would take Schobel with his 53 yards receiving and a touchdown and a fumble recovery that set us up in their red zone. Or linebacker Kenyon Parker for 2 interceptions, one in their red zone and one on our 6-yard line. Anyway, as long as we can beat the team of undrafted rookies we play next week, we should swagger into the play-offs. Then we'll be all set to pay Norfolk in a divisional decider. Without Culpepper, who's dragging his feet at the physios not getting fit. The workshy fop. The Norfolk guy has the nerve to moan about his centre of inside linebacker getting injured the tart. Did you hear me complaining about my starting quarterback getting injured leaving me with an inept w4nk0rZ, or my best player and left tackle getting injured for the year? Well, yes, ok you did but that's neither here nor there. Incredibly given Luke Pick Bruce's effort we're only -3 on the year for turnover margin. (we bagged 4 in our favour in this game). Meanwhile our star runningback chap look like he might break the league single season record for rushes and rushing yards with 500 carries (yes, it's a world of workhorses extraordinaire in FOF-land) and 2000 yards. And he is only rated about 53, compared to all the flashy figure guys languishing in his wake. So there. I'm hoping for a 200-yard game against the Scrubs so I won't have to rely too much on him against divisional rival Norfolk. So that's all alright then. Of course, I'll be laughing on the other side of my face should I lose next week. Which will be a sight.

Hello! Good work, Narkle. Is three games enough? I think you should start at least another four. One for each day of the week. KUTGW :thumb:

The other two leagues sim 2 games a week. This one has 1.5 a week. So that's one for every day of the week with half a game thrown in for the weekend.
The key thing is to space the drafts and free agency periods out so I don't get them in two leagues at the same time , as they take the most time and planning. Unfortunately the fact that one league runs 1.5 weeks means that eventually there's going to be a clash.
Gameplans and the like I can knock out in about 30-45 minutes if I go into detail or 10-15 if I don't. I have to admit that I haven't actually played a single player computer game of any description since I started all this MP malarkey. But it's debateable if that's a bad thing or not.

So when do you get time to do some gazebo? Do they pay you overtime for that?

Gazebo you say?
Theoretically my gazebo completion rate should improve as there's only so much you can do from week to week in MP land, as opposed to other computer games that you can play all the while. In practice it's done nothing of the sort, of course. But that's probably because I'm an idle bastard who do'll anything instead of working. Even responding to you.
I've worked out how I could stop playing computer games though. I'd just have to become a games tester. If I had that job I'd probably sit around designing databases or some such nonsense all day.

What I want to know is - how come you're still employed? You've been there for, what, three years? With about 5% productivity? If that... I bet you've had pay rises too. Ye bostord.

You have a very low opinion of me, Narkle, despite me constantly agreeing with you. I may have to take my hero-worshipping somewhere else.

I've been gainfully employed at my company since October 2000 with a 4 month intermission when they laid me off and then begged me to come back because they couldn't do without me. You appear to be underestimating my secret powers of gazebo-doing. As opposed to my company who seem to overestimate them. Somewhat.

Underestimate? OK, 6%? 7%?

Hurrah! For us. Despite having Josh McCown's less talented brother at quarterback we've managed to make the play-offs for the first time in franchise history. Proof that I'm a complete star if ever any was needed. Admiittedly it wasn't the most convincing of wins over a bunch of rookies, partly because of turning the ball over 3 times, but who cares? Not I! That's who. If only I had beaten Boston I could now afford to rest all my starters for the play-offs. As it is I'm in a quandary as I don't know whether I should start my best side to try and take the division title off of Norfolk or if I should conserve players for the play-offs. All a divisional win will do for me is give me home field "advantage" next week. Oh and make my day at beating Norfolk, of course. My runningy back chappy Jay Covington is 11 rushes from 500 attempts and 21 yards from 2000 yards (both league records), and a touchdown from breaking the league rushing touchdown record. Which is nice! So, to re-iterate. I rule.

Game of two halves that, Narkle. Going 21-0 up after 3 possessions each is a handy start to any game. What's the real life record for single season rushing? Is the game biased that way? Is that why you're playing it that way?

I don't think anyone has ever managed 500 rushes. I'm not sure if anyones managed 400 for that matter. They'd last about 2 seasons if they were lucky at that rate. A few people have run for over 2,000 yards though (Jamal Lewis being the latest). I would have broken both this game were it not for the fact that I played an all-out passing game against Denver to surprise them. I'm planning on doing that again in the play-offs if Culpepper gets off his arse and gets fit in time. The poof!
The rushing in the game is pretty knackered to be honest. It seems that players with low endurance can make 30-40 rushing attempts per game while high endurance players only manage 20-25. Something a bit bugged I think.

Bah! We lost to Norfolk (again) as he actually gameplans his own defence rather than taking the AI suggested defence, which means he can shut our running game down. So we take the wildcard place and will have to take the long road to get to the Bowl. Arf Arf! I don't think we're going to win our first game in all honesty, as the team we're playing has a huge run defence. It means I have to bring back Culpepper while he's still injured (1 more week) and hope that he doesn't come a cropper again. Bah! Basically.

And so the Wild Card game is due around 14:30 my time. I feel a bit nervous about the whole thing. Culpepper will be forced into service ahead of schedule for only his 4th start this year. Basically though I need my defence to step it up if I'm going to win. My fantastic defence who are rated 1st in overall defence this year. Yes. Them. Admittedly only because we controlled the clock by always running the ball and we're now going to pass it around with gay abandon. But still.

If you are going to pass it around like abandoned gays, then I'd stick to kneeling before your God and praying, because there's no cure for it yet. :humb:
Oh hang on, I see what you mean.

Arsecandelsh! Our offence got completely pWned the twats! I don't think I've ever seen such a toothless display. I was sitting there thinking, "right, so our defence is doing a fantastic job of holding them, so when does our offence kick in?" Answer; "it doesn't kick in" Pantfish!

In even better news my best player (you'll no doubt remember he was injured in week 2) the left tackle chappy came back from surgery completely unplayable because of the injury. The only option I have is to cut him and swallow the bonus money cap hit. And instead of complementing a pretty rounded, good team I have to spend the whole off-season trying to find a replacement left tackle. Bollocks.
