OK, Superleague is cut to 12 teams, playing three times making it 33 games. I'm not sure if there's a silly cut off like in Scotland. It wouldn't surprise me. (Two splits of 6 would make 5 extra games, total of 38?)
Serbia First Division is still at 20 teams. As there were so many relegated last season, they all dropped from the Serbian FIrst Div last season byt the look of it.
Monty First Division untouched.
In other news, and not really a surprise to anyone, I pretty much sacked my entire starting staff and replaced them with better ones. Not that it's going to make much difference, I don't think, as there seem to be some decent sides dropping into this league.

8 teams! I didn't even notice that either. Definitely brings a new meaning to avoiding relegation.
Trawling the transfer listed eh, good work. Oh, and if you want to get them to sign fulltime, you need to double, sometimes triple their wages. That or just mutually terminate, bring out Arnie.

Errr... just looking at my previous tables (OK, I was a little slow with this) it appears that there are only two relegation places highlighted, even up to 30 games gone from 38, so i'm not sure where the extra places came from. Can anyone confirm when they get that far when they see the change in the table?
You'd be well pished off if you were fifth bottom and starting to relax a bit, playing youngsters.

It seems a bit odd to merge the divisions when the country is going to be split in two. I would have thought that the Monty division is going to become a seperate entity but presume that FM wouldn't be able to cope with that. It does look like they're going to change it to 3 (or 4) divisions in a straight up and down system.

Monty and Serbia First Divisions still feed nito the S&M Superleague it seems, so that hasn't changed. What changed was the SL being trimmed to 12 clubs, and a bunch of clubs relegated from the SL into the Serb 1st and then a chunk relegated from that one too. I think what we'll need to do is avoid the bottom half of the table whatever division we're in at the time, just o make sure we don't get involved.

I've played four games of the new season so far, two in the league and two in the cup. I won both cup games against non-leaguers, but both league games beaten, 5-0 and 2-0.
I'm not sure I like this game anymore.

I won the next three games, I think, definitely the next two, I can't remember if the third was a cup game, a league game, or just in my head. It was late. The 5-0 trouncing was against a recently relegated team who were 6th bottom last season, so not exactly crap. I was 2-0 after 65 mins or so, made two subs to try and turn the game around, then five mins later one of the lads got a knock, so out the third sub on, then the keeper was injured, so was down to 10 with a RB as keeper. He let in three in 15 minutes. The standard of the non-relegated is just the same as last season, so as I think my team has moved on, I should be able to pick up more points from those lot. However the six (was it six?) teams that came down will still have decent Superleague players at their club and they will be very tricky indeed, so top two for promotion will take some doing, I think.

Sounds like a hard task, looks like a consolidation season, looking to push on next season. Obviously going up in the first season would have made the job of staying up that much harder given the restructuring.

Just discussed that with Boony on MSN, Coffers and we said more or less the same thing. The standard of those in the top flight would be significantly higher and therefore very hard for us to stay alive and the standard of those that have dropped into our division is a bit higher than us and therefore it's going to be difficult for us to push for the top 2. Boony said that the higher end of mid table (around 7th-9th) would ironically be a kind of improvement. I'm hoping to get top six, TBH, as I think that showing you're better than an ex-SL team wouldshow I'm moving in the right direction.

I think I'd agree with you, you would want to show that you have improved against those that were above you. Therefore aiming for 6th or higher is a good move.

Right so a decent session, we progress to the 2nd round of the CUp and also go unbeaten in the league for 6 games. We're 7th in the league, on 14 points, with the leaders Borac on 18.

Nice, getting in a session is great stuff. I've had a terrible time lately getting close, though I have tested my team out with the better top sides and found that I can compete, and if I strengthen up at the back, happy times are ahead. Kind off :cab: Don't mind me, it's just the caffeine kicking in. Good stuff on recovering so well, and your lurking, yes that's the word, nicely. Keep that up, sneak a few wins against the top sides and you should get that top 6 spot you want :thumb:

An injury to my AMC has meant Warick Escapade being able to play through there and he's done quite well. Stories For Phil has started the season well too scoring 5 goals in six games (if memory serves) and we need him to be fit if we have any chance, I think we missed him at the end of last season.

The problem I have with him is that he rarely goes for the full 90 minutes. I'm loathed to change his instructions, as he seems to be scoring, but I would rather have him on for the full ninety. Now he's full time, hopefully his stamina will improve.

After that shite, scores of 2-0, 2-0, 2-1 and then a 2-4 means we're still in touching distance of the top team. Stories For Phil looking good, Sorry Rabble filling in very nicely whilst Deny The Fascts has been out injured and Warwick Escapade still firing in crosses from the right Looks OK so far this season, but we still have some creases to iron out.

Getting the team full time was the first thing I did at the club. I a player or coach didn't want to be, or I couldn't reach an agreement, they were out of there. That meant firing my scouts, and my physio's as I couldn't offer them decent fulltime contracts. The bizare thing was that some coaches I could recruit could be offered upwards of 2k pounds per week :cab:
Now, all my squad is full time. Except me.

The club won't let me offer more than any backroom staff are already being paid and in most cases they won't even let me offer taht much, so some of teh backroom staff will have to stay part time for the moment, all the players are full time and the majority of coaches are now on full time contracts.
Oh and Moo. Good Work, Keep up the lurking. :thumb:

That last game annoyed me immensely as we were the better side. Pretty much four defensive mistakes (one mishit clearance, a couple of missed tackles and a silly free kick on the edge of the box) gave them their four goals. Worryingly, our two goals came after some tweaking. It's worrying because it may mean I'm starting to understand how things work a bit more. And we can't have that, can we?
