Wor lass is out on the lash tonight, so I'll be watching the game too Pops. However, I have a handicap as the boys will be going to bed through the first half at some point. I may have a problem....

Why? Get them to fetch all your beer before you pack them off to bed. Or move the fridge to the sofa.

I have a window of bed-putting between 7.30 and 8.00
I have an inkling to stay off beer tonight too.
Wait, wait, let me explain before you tut.
Last weekend was my first night on my own homebrew. My headache ended yesterday.
I think a nice bottle of red is in order.
Though I suppose being a Poland fan, I should be on the voddy.
Jeeze. Choices.

Also, my problem with "late" games on Fridays and Saturdays is that the TV in the country is in the room where my mother-in-law sleeps so she will have to be convinced not to go to bed too early. Fortunately she's more interested in football than me (not a hard feat I'll grant you), so hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a deal.

Oh well. That's me pulled three belters out of the sweepstake hat.
Poland, Ecuador and USA.
Sheesh. Trust me to pick two teams who play each other tonight.
Poland for the Cup x 2

Some other bugger's probably got Brazil, Italy and Argentina.
Shame we're gonna win it this year!

I got Ukraine. Meh! Home brew is very dangerous Pops, but I'll tut anyway. Hopefully the sun will have tired Samuel out sufficiently so that at 8:45 I can whisk him upstairs, read Duck In The Truck, Hairy MacLary (from Donaldson's Dairy) and one of the Balamory books (he likes the Lost Cow at the moment) and then that'll be him nodding off by 9pm. Me + telly + beer = good.

I only knew it was your lass from the branding, moo.
Hairy Maclary, eh? Bonus. We have The Clown as our fave Balamory epistle. Other than that, the two big ones get half a chapter of the Prisoner of Azkaban at the moment.
And one rendition of the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
And then I get my homebrew.

I don't like The Clown. He looks very iffy to me.
Hairy MacLary is good, I reckon. Samuel can't say "Duck In The Truck" though, he says "Duck In Fuck". My mother thought it was hilarious when we visited her last.
I'd like to read to the Jack as well, but by the time Sam settles down, Jack is already snoring.
Leaves me with the fridge and the beer.

Fridge and beer? The perfect combination. Only bettered by beer and glass, and then beer and mouth.

Cut out the middleman, don't bother with the glass.

The best goal was the sixth in the match, absolute screamer into the lop corner from TORSTEN FRINGS!!!

TUNGSTEN FRINGE!
His celebratory 1978 haircut helped him, I'm sure.

Ecuador were pretty handy though, very committed and rather good on the ball. I favour them to beat Costa Rica and maybe even give Germany a solid run.

I was quite impressed by Ecuador, but it has to be said Poland were totally clueless. It was like watching Middlesbrough on bad day. I'm sure a stronger team will prove Ecuador aren't quite as good as Poland made them look.

Poland always look handy in qualifying and then play in the finals as if someone has taken their collective mothers hostage.
