I've opened a confidence pool for the Extremely Big Cup to run alongside Moo's fatnasty thingy, errr, and Nark's fatnasty thingy too. This has less to do after your first picks. As in nothing. Ok, so what the pantfish is a confidence pool? There are 32 teams in the world cup and you have to pick them from the best (32 points) to the worst (1 point) and, well, that's it. The ranking you give out is used as a multiple of the points available; three for a win and one for a draw. This means if the team you gave 1 point wins, you get 3 points. If the team you gave 32 points wins, you get 96 points (32x3). 1 point team draws = 1 point. (1x1) 32 point team draws = 32 points. (32x1) An example : Moo ranks : Germany 24 points. Poland 14 points. Boo ranks : Germany 26 points. Poland 13 points. Germany win : Moo : 72 points Boo : 78 points Draw : Moo : 38 points Boo : 39 points Poland win : Moo : 42 points Boo : 39 points Easy! Sign up here : alex.textdriven.com/pantfishPicks are hidden till the games start and you have until Thursday night to get them in, so stop fucking about.

Two things - firstly, it's worth going to a site like the BBC, looking at the teams and working out your order before you go to the pick page. Secondly, don't forget to bookmark the page that has your picks listed on it, after you've picked, in case you want to go back and change them before kick off.

There we go then. That was a pain around the middling regions but I managed and shall win the competition by dint of Australia's surprise quarter-final place*.
*Having, I've just realised, beaten Italy in the 2nd round. Oh yes. Unless the Italians slip up against someone and finish second. Or the Aussies do better than Brizal.

Yeah, it's painful enough trying to decide if Ecuador or Tunisia are more pantfish, and then the interface doesn't help by not removing the choices you've made from the other boxes, but otherwise, it's an ianteresting idea.

So you're suggesting going through the prediction thingie the BBC have on their site to see who you think will go furthes. Fair enough i suppose. I'll do this at home and wow you all with my fantastic points total after it's finished.
Just please don't tell Elthie about this, you know what that canute is like.

Done. A few picks in there that'll surprise some people, I fancy.
They certainly surprised me.

Done. Quite surprised myself too.
Especially when getting to the bottom and realising you've missed three.
Didn't look at the BBC. Did it with my heart...
Fricking eejit.

I'm guessing you have England as your 8-pointer, Pops. Bottom of the group, out of principle?

Erm. I can't remember.
Hang on....

I only have 11 teams above them.
I haven't bothered with the whole "group strength" thing, just ranked them.
I lack finesse.
And a big wedge.

I'll say one thing for you, nark. You have one hell of a memory. Nice new blue flags this year. And the rival course is now open too, so I have a choice. Time to swing? That's a different matter.

He made a drunken post in my thread the other day. I think he's being assimilated into the Moorg.
