Meh! Looks like I was a bit optimistic. It is 80% of what you earn up to a maximum cap. Unfortunately that cap is well under what I earn so, after tax, it will be something like 60% of what I'm earning now, for something like 400 working days.
I've got a meeting with the HR Manager this afternoon. My main hope now is that they have to give me another position by law and they'll decide that it's too costly to do that and just leave me be. The only problem is that I'm sure there's 101 ways they can argue that I'm not qualified to take any of the other positions that are available. I think they have to pay me what they're paying me now no matter what they give me, so I might be the highest paid office dogsbody in the world.

Meh! I'm reading about the "last in, first out" rule and it's a bit of a mess as to what the company has to do. They're, basically, allowed to negotiate with the unions about when they can avoid applying it. In theory, there's a guy who started 3 months ago who's using Microsoft Dynamics CRM who's job I should be qualified to do with a month or two's training. But he's got previous experience, has economics qualifications bladdy-bladdy-blah, and I'm sure there's ample room for them to not have to apply it to him.
Wish I'd joined a union now.

I agree too about Boo Incidentally, I was told mine went well. Now all I have to find out about is the results of the review. We'll see. I think I'll be taking lots of training courses. That's ok though, as the position that I"ll be filling will require that, and give me the time too. I'll miss some of the people I'm working with, but I'll be still in the building though and can visit them.

Don't talk to me about training courses, at my last review they said I could have one, when I presented the one I wanted, they said fine, but can you find a cheaper one, I found a cheaper one and have been waiting for the goahead for the last 5 months. :moop: We were supposed to be awash with training funds, I'm not aware of any of it being spent yet either.
Fookwits, the last course I was on was about 5 years ago.

Coffers, they're still probably laughing at you because you were on the course in July and have just forgotten you were there.

I have my interview for the exciting new job tomorrow. That would be a three hour interview - I haven't spent that much time in the office in months. I'll probably get a rash.

Meeting didn't go optimally I must say. I tried to get information about the "last in first out" business but it became pretty clear that they're just going to say "You can't do that because you don't have the experience. Bugger off"or "You're not going to want to keep that job, you're going to look for work elsewhere. Bugger off" (if it's a lower ranked job).

No, no, I definitely haven't had a course, I'd have known if I had because I'd still have opies of the expenses claims, invoices etc. That's something I never forget about, claiming expenses, all above board stuff I might add.

Not sounding good Nark, I'll keep my fingers crossed all the same. Now could be the time to trip over a loose wire at work and screw the bastards for compensation as well as redundancy money.

On the plus side it turns out that the unemployment benefit is indefinite as I get 65% of what I'm earning after 450 "working" days of unemployment, which, given the cap, is the same amount as 80%.

That's pretty good for being a house husband, shirley? No bugger would work ever again over here if it was that good. What's the catch?
