Testicles. Stitching in the grunties area would be bad.

Anything that means doing less with your eyes in forms of medication is a winner in my eyes. It will be something to hear when there is no drops and no stitches. I'm guessing that day can't come soon enough for you Moo.
Small steps though :thumb:

Another step... we're down to one drop a day now. No stitches out today, but the docs said that the vision is noticeably better, the eye is healing nicely and it's all going to plan. Back in at the end of March, but it's unlikely any stitches will be taken out then either. That's not a bad thing of course.

Errr... I forgot to update this in March. :moop: March: optician says that eyesight getting better, very pleased. Consultant very pleased with the graft, says no need for stitches out in a kind of "if we don't need to, why bother?" sort of way, which is fine with me. April: I was asked to go back in so that the optician could fit me for a contact lens. The one I will be getting is slightly bigger than the smaller hard lens I have in the left eye. It's not noticeable when you look at it, but sheesh, can you feel it when it's in there. Also it might just be that I haven't had a lens in there for 9 months and so I can feel it more, but still, it felt awkward. Today: I pick the lens up, after just receiving the letter on Saturday afternoon.

Does it have to be a lens, can't you wear glasses?
I have always shuddered at the thought of wearing contact lenses.

The soft ones are generally pretty comfortable. The thought of the hard type squicks me out a bit but my aunt wears them without issue so I guess they can't be too bad.

My eyes are too big for contact lenses apparently. I need to get them specially made for squatrillions of pounds.

You get a better prescription with lenses and as my eye is still taking shape a bit (and will do until all the stitches are out), glasses aren't the best option just yet. The intention is to get glasses though.

Oops!
And apparently I'm not allowed to take the lens either, it'll slip too much and rub against the stitches. Still half-blind then...

Eyes!
I had two more stitches taken out this morning, leaving 5 of 12 still in there. The reason they've done this is because they were pulling ever so slightly and they hope that this might help me to get a lens in next time I go. My meds have been upped again, for the next 6 weeks though, but that is to be expected.
In good news, the doctor I saw this morning was gorgeous. I hope she's there next time when I have a groin strain.

Gorgeous? You just had major eye tinkering. I'll put a fiver on her being a bearded Sikh.

Pre-tinkering and post-tinkering, she wasn't a bearded Sikh. Although it might be her kink, you never know these days.

She was called Chris. I hope it was short for Christine and not Christopher. Although I'm not sure how popular Christopher is as a Sikh name.

Eyeball Updates: When I was off work, the first couple of weeks of job searches were hindered by me having an ulcer on my left (good) eye, meaning I had to take meds, leave there lens out, so was pretty much without vision for two weeks. Well over the weekend, the eye started to go red again, and I immediately thought the ulcers were back. Quick trip to the hospital this morning and my suspicions are confirmed. Because I have 4 (!) ulcers on the left eye, I have a lot of meds to take, including some tablet which a horse would have concerns over swallowing. The doc also recommended me taking two weeks off on the sick.
Brill. At work for four weeks, on the sick for two. Bunch of arse.

Arse! Hope it all clears up soon.
Is teh place you work in air conditioned? Despite my eye supposedly being betting, I still have problems in air conditioned cars. I don't have half the trouble since I sold the one I had with air conditioning. I also have problems in hot dry climates to some extent.

Apparently because I have these ulcers before, I am now more susceptible to them. Honestly, I'm really, really annoyed.

It seems to work that way with infections. You'd think the body would get used to fighting them and actually be good at it, but noooo.

More eye-related buffoonery... Did I mention I have specs? Got them at the end of last year. Anyhoo, they're just a backup deal, after I eventually got the new lens in March and it's a bit of alright. I can see in 3D and everything. I was back at the hospital today for a check up and everything is going well, cell regeneration is excellent, vision very good, no need to go back for 6 months. Nice. Also, yesterday marked the two year anniversary of the operation. Yes, two years. Feels like longer.
