Blob² Had the trifecteur of a cold, a dodgy stomache and teeth coming through. So my weekend was a barrel of non-stop fun and thrills. And then she fell down the pebble-dashed outside stairs to scrape her nose up and get a big bump on her head. Which just made things all the better for all concerned.

I planned to catch up on sleep over the weekend, and two solid 9 hours should have done it. I then watched Saints-Seahawks until stupid o'clock and am back to square one. I'll never learn.

I'm led to believe that nearly all of Australia were supporting France on Saturday by my brother in Oz. He claims that the TV commentators were all but in tears over the England win, and there are some calls for rule changes to stop games being won by kicking. How true is this Sonic and Elth.

More importantly, how fucking funny was it beating Australia and France (in their own backyard, no less!) in back-to-back weeks having played like utter, utter crap for nigh-on four years?
France basically played that entire game with their hands wrapped good and tight around their collective throats. One spawny bounce of the ball aside, England did absolutely NOTHING right for about the first fifty minutes of the game - they couldn't retain possession, the lineouts were terrible, the kicking, both from hand and in dead-ball situations, was rubbish, and they had about as much chance of scoring as I do with Kiera Knightly. All the French needed to do was play their normal game halfway efficiently, take the points they were given the result was theirs.
Instead - ahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa.
Yes, inevitable humiliation to The Most Hateful Sporting Nation On Earth inevitably awaits, but the hell with it - by all rights we should have been on the plane hoime twice now, so we're well into the "playing with the house's money" stage now. Given that two weeks ago we were staring abject disgrace square in the face, if you'd offered me "heroic faliure" at that stage I'd have bitten your hand off.

Coffers, it's been talked about for ages now, and the more recent talk I've heard is about quickening the game up. Basically meaning that you'll have a forward pack of mobile second rowers and break-aways.
I didn't watch the games either as one I was watching a band, and Sunday I was in lots of pain and am still in a bit less. EIther gastroenteritis(fingers crossed) or an inflamed pancreas. I know which I'd prefer to have.

I wouldn't have called it a spawny bounce, more a bad decision by the French defender. He should have hoofed it into next week, instead he stared at it like a rabbit caught in headlights, because he didn't want to give away a lineout so near the line.
If he'd known how bad we were at lineouts, he'd have kicked it and laughed.
I don't think we'll win next week, but I won't write us off. The Argies showed that the SA pack can be troubled when pressured, so I would expect our pack to hammer into them.

The SA's also managed to overcome that though too, which most packs who have had that haven't done yet. THe Final will reveal all.

i just watched the 99 game between France and the All Blacks again and that 15 minutes of Rugby the French put in in the second half is just awesome. If they could do that all the time, there'd be no one to touch them - especially not the England side that was out there at the weekend.
Should be an ugly final.

Nowt wrong with that, if it works. It's just rugby trying to return to it's footballing roots. :humb:

I scored a hat trick in touch football this evening, including a lung busting 75 yard sideline run after I did a neat 360 turn to send my marker the wrong way.
I am now sugar crashing...

I'll also be chatting to s1ut online.
The two are obviously not related. Oh no, none of that here.
I shall also be avoiding alcohol, as it's evil.

I don't actually know I haven't been in Tescos in ages, I think Morrisons have plans to stock them though. I would say I might try out FM07 or continue the Barrow/Valencia thread but that would probably turn out to be a lie.

I'll be attempting to get some gametime on FM08... but that won't be until I awake with a hangover tomorrow at the earliest.
For someone who's had it (legit, I may add!) since Wednesday, I haven't really played it much thus far. Still, I got to send a gloaty text to Moo, so that was nice.
