I very nearly responded to mong yesterday in a fashion that would have had me disbarred by the modern thought police for life. And all based on when I used to commute to work in Cambridge on a bus that stopped on the way at the local mental institution.
Lucky my finger filter worked well.

Who was teh solicitor DC, don't tell me it was Frodshams, they were shoite for us 9 years ago. I complained to the building society who had recommended them and we got a refund. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Boo: congrat's on getting your first foot on the ladder. The trick with solicitors is to badger them constantly otherwise the lazy buggers drag their heels. They jump to those who shout the loudest and most frequent.

I've just had a letter from the valuation department of HM Revenue and Customs. Apparently they have changed the Council Tax band valuation on our house from an E, down to a D, back dated to 11th December 1999. They have informed me that my local council will be in touch with us probably sometime next week, to tell us how they are going to refund eight and a half years worth of overpayments. ![](http://www.geocities.com/jacquesdebohun/smilies/thumb.gif)

Can I have a loan?

Post by coffers on Apr 24, 2008 13:34:48 GMT
I'm not sure what the difference is in band has been over the years, but it was about £300 last year. Based on that the refund could be around £2400 and then we'll end up about £30 a month better off for this coming year.

Should come just in time for when I have to pay the balance for the holidays, and then have some spends left over. Mrs C will have it spent already. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

It would be nice if it happens, but I won't count too many chickens yet. I thought we had paid as band D for at least some of those years but the band history site says were were an E.

Nicely done, Coffers.
In other news, I am about to be offered a new job, to work for Virgin Media as some sort of MI Analyst type thing. More money, more miles in the car though, but I'll get free TV and Broadband. Current work won't be pleased when I tell them the news this morning.

With all that Moo is dealing with of late, he won't have time to watch telly or use Broadband, so Virgin are paying Sam and his lass, not Moo. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Office based in Team Valley, Gateshead, so approx 22 miles away from home, but it'll take somewhere between 40 and 75 mins, depending on traffice. Oh aye, it's a nice part of the A1. Hermit crab - ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) And aye, Nic and the kids are going to love the freebies. I'll be too busy solving world hunger, rebuilding that Chinese wall and figuring out why Stu is such a jammy fooker.
