Good news the day before our first game as the Sooper Hoops send us a 19 year old keeper on loan. Our starting keeper has been pretty good so far, but AssMoo tells me the new guy - Sean Thomas - is good, especially in the air, while his positioning may be lacking.

Sanctuary vs Cambridge City
Giant "Jim" Dale and Sean Thomas are both straight into the side on the recommendation of fitness coach 800, who says they'll both probably survive despite not being match fit.
The concern for me is the defence though, as we didn't manage to strengthen the middle. I drop Lemon Moo who's turned out to be about as much use as an elipsoidal citrus fruit at right back and put the versatile Hasim Deen (D/WB/MR) in there. A good start will be important as it'll allow me to give defensive instructions to one of the MCs, to cover the defence.
We're in our black first kit with the GIN! logo hopefully inspiring us forward, but the going is sticky to start as our new long, narrow field is boggy with good old fashioned English summer rain. Through balls that look massively overplayed, earning some swearing from the AssMoo, turn out to stick in the mud, allowing our players to get completely outpaced, chasing them.
Lacking a bit of, well, anything, inspiration comes in unlikely form as midfielder Chris Seeby falls over clutching his calf muscle after a robust challenge and the Cambridge defence seem somewhat distracted as our physio runs off the field after sponging down Seeby. This lets Lee Clarke get free and although his shot is saved, newbie Rob Jim Dale is on hand to tap in for the lead.
The goal inspires Clarke who grabs the Divots' second six minutes later running onto a sweet throughball to sidefoot past the keeper and he repeats the trick later to make us feel comfortable after Cambridge grab a goal back.
Sanctuary 3-1 Cambridge City
Dale, Clarke (2) ¦ Mcgregor
Clarke wins Man of the Match for two goals and an assist it what is, it turns out, his 125th appearance for the club. Dale and loanee keeper Sean Thomas both looked good in their first games for the Divots.
Transfers
QPR send us another player in the shape of defender Pat Kanyuka, who looks like he's better than all of our Central Defenders combined.
Kanyuka agrees to come over for three months and the day after he arrives the reason becomes apparent as he damages his heel and will spend two of those three months in Garraway's hands.
Bath vs Sanctuary
We have some trouble getting 800 on the bus for this game for some reason, as he doesn't like the "B" word and that problem is exacerbated when the weather in Bath is announced as Showers.
Scottish midfielder Paul Bruce has an interesting game as he's responsible for us going ahead on 24 minutes, as he breaks through the Bath defence, draws the keeper and then squares the ball to Lee Clarke who taps into the empty net.
Bruce then picks up two yellow cards in the space of four minutes and is off for early use of Bath's bath. The home side push back against our ten men and things threaten to get out of hand, so we sacrifice scorer Clarke in favour of a midfielder, leaving the 6'7" Dale up front on his own.
We start punting passes up to Dale and he holds the ball up nicely and then slides it through to a sprinting Hassan Sulaiman who cracks the ball home from a narrow angle for a 2-0 lead.
Bath grab a goal on the hour when the lack of position Moo warned me about is evident in Sean Thomas' game as the on-loan keeper takes a horrible angle and gets beaten to a throughball, but he's solid otherwise and we'll take an away win with ten men, thank you.
Bath 1-2 Sanctuary
Partridge ¦ Clarke, Sulaiman
Defender Ben Martin made his 50th appearance for the club in this game.
Midfielder Paul Bruce accepts a warning for his rash challenges.
Not a bad start.
