And still you've yet to play the Brum's :thumb: It looks like the Brum's are in a Hornet Tailspin, which is nice, especially for you. Getting back to what's important, my game I've qualified from my LAC group again, drawing wiht St. Etienne nil all at my place to put me through due to head to head, beating them at my place. I drew Ajax in the next round. Pops would love his Rangers side this season, they topped their group which had Juv, Valencia, and some other equally tough side. They were convincing too, and could go further I think too. I've decided that I'm leaving at the end of this season no matter if I don't have a job or not, as I've finally gotten tired of trying to sign decent players. I've left the club in a more than healthy position, and have bought in players for next season, though I think the club is going to be gutted. Some of the youngsters I'm playing wiht, wow. 3 18yr players, two in defence alone and playing well equals being sold at the first chance after I've left the club.

Although there are a couple more games to play in March I thought that events over the last few games warranted an update. The Leeds game away was a hard fought affair, we twice took the lead but Leeds twice came back and the game ended 2-2. I thought that would leave Birmingham to open the gap again, but they didn't, all the promotion chasing clubs drew, so it was status quo as far as the league table went. A home game against relegation battlers Plymouth seemed a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways, it nearly wasn't. We took an early lead, but the game died as a spectacle after that. We then had a player sent off 30 minutes from the end and battled to keep the lead until they had one sent off too. We finally won 1-0 and were really happy to find that Birmingham could only draw with relegated Crewe, so we took over top spot a week earlier than expected. Birmingham were next at St Andrews, we needed to avoid defeat to keep our No 1 placing, but a hard game was in prospect. We got a hard game alright but ran out 4-1 winners courtesy of a Storm In A Tea Cup hat-trick. That puts us 4 points clear. Yay! Now all I have to do is hang on to it. Another two points will guarantee a play-off place. The Championship League table with 6 games to go:Games left: we have Rotherham at home, Derby away, Millwall Home, Swansea Away, Luton Home and Burnley away.

Nice work Coffers! I see the mackems are in mid table mediocrity there, so good luck to them. How are the only other north east club and the North Yorkshire club getting on?

Well Middlesbrough are in 11th place in the Premier Divison with 44 points from 31 games and Scarborough are 17th in the Conference with 40 points from 40 games. But there is another North Yorkshire club; York are in 13th place in the Conference with 59 points from 39. FYI: the Psuedo Scottish club are in 7th place in the Premiership with 47 points from 31 games.

March was completed with a 2-0 home win against Rotherham and a 2-0 away win at Derby. Storm In A Teacup has hit a rich vein of form and has grabbed a goal in each game since his Birmingham hat-trick. Birmingham are now 8 points behind us with 4 games to play, 3rd placed Hull trail us by 11 points. Another win and we have guaranteed promotion.

The 4-0 hammering of Millwall at home ensures that we win the Championship tin pot, Birmingham lost 1-0 at Plymouth and Hull drew 1-1 at QPR.
The bad news of this update is that Venezuela lost 3-2 away to Equador. I just cannot get the tactics right for this mob, they look decent enough but they play like a bag of shoite.

Bo..ahem. Nice work there COffers :thumb: I never doubted for you in a moment.
Regarding the International front, I know what you mean. I had the darndest time against the smallest teams, and usually beat or got a result againts the the biggest teams. I don't understand why this is set up this way. I think it is the only reason I won the World Cup with AUstria, as some of the wins in the group stage and after weren't deserved. Has any other team got away with having 5 yellows and 3 reds in a tournament?

As usual once the tin pot is won I see a team that I manage go off the boil, but it wasn't immediately this time. We started our last 3 games by hammering Swansea 3-1 away, but we had to come back from behind as they had a 1-0 lead at half time. Next up we faced Luton at home and lost 2-0, it was just like watching paint dry, shoite paint at that. The season ended with a visit to local rivals, Burnley. Their manager started the banter and Burnley took a 1-0 lead into the second half. My lot got a half time bollocking and played much betetr in the second half, equalising on the hour. Burnley grabbed the lead again in the 89th minute and I was contemplating a lamblasting at full time, when Storm In A Teacup won a penalty 3 minutes into injury time. It was converted to save our blushes, but the team as a whole were blasted anyway. After the game I took time out to accuse the burnley manager of deliberate negative tactics which was plainly a lie, but I wanted to get up the bostords nose. The Final Championship Table:

Tight at the top of the Premmie there, nice to see.
Is Sir Alex still at the helm there at ManUre or has Sparky taken over, like he has in my game?
BTW, in my Newcastle save, I won the FA Cup against Spurs in my second season, also finishing 6th in the league. The highlight was in the FA Cup Final when we were 2-1 up and in the first minute of injury time, Paul Robinson came up for the corner, he missed it, Parker fed the ball to owen who was 20 yards inside our half and launched it to score his hat trick fro 70 yards. I got told off by the missus for saying "Get in there you fucking beauty!" at 10:30pm.
Doesn't she know it's real?
Anywho, nice work on the promtion™, get signing some decent players for the big league.

Bryan Robinson is ManUre's manager. Harry Redknapp is Newcastle's manager and McClaren is still at Boro. Chelsea Arsenal and Liverpool's managers are the same as the present day ones. Mark Hughes is still at Blackburn.
Arsenal beat Chelsea 5-3 on penalties after the game ended 0-0, in the FA Cup Final. Roma beat Sporting Lisbon 3-0 in the EURO Cup final, Chelsea beat Schalke on penalties in the LAC final after the game ended 2-2.
PS. West Ham beat Wigan 1-0 in the Championship play-off final, after extra time.

On the International scene, Venezuela manage a 2-0 home win against Peru who were fancied to win the game, but that was followed by a disappointing 2-0 away loss at Paraguay, leaving us 7th of 10 in the SAM WC Qualifying Group. We are 4 points off the last qualification place, which is held by Peru.

Congrats on the season.
Nottm Forrest's fans must have been having heart attacks at the end of a lot of games, what with 15 draws. Just two reversals and the table looks a lot different.
When's Adriano coming to Presten?

I've just got through the holidays and started the friendlies, the board got over £13M at the start of the season and only gave me a transfer budget of £3.3M. I had a shed load of Bozzer midfielders come in who were all supposed to be 4* players, I was hoping to boost my 2* midfield.
According to my Ass-man only one of the players is 3* the rest are 2* or worse. So much for that idea. Anyhow in Euro 2008 England beat Spain 2-1 in the final. Beckham won the golden boot, Owen was second.
In the three friendlies played so far we've beaten Basingstoke away 5-0, and two Bulgarian teams away 2-0 and 3-0. I've plenty of mid-fielders and defenders of varying quality but I'm struggling to get another striker on board for reasonable cover.
The Fjolnir fans are going ape-shit as they continue to shed my signings at bargain knockdown prices, including Jammy Forefinger who joined us at Preston. They went out of the Icelandic Upper League Cup at the Quarter Final stage, going down 2-0 against KR at home.
On transfer finances, I used the bulk of the £3.3M on a up and coming ManUre Centre Back, shelling out £2M for him. I have around £900k left and if I want more I'll have to sell. Famous Nick has already gone to Walsall for a slight profit and my other left winger from last season also left for some London Club or other. I had to laugh when Famous Nick joined Walsall he told a National paper that he was going to set the Bescott Stadium alight with his electrifying football. If he'd done that here instead of getting injured all the time he might not have been transferred.
Last season's right winger is also listed, I had one bite at the asking price but messed up by asking for a sell on clause. When I tried again the biting team weren't interested.

Right that's the friendlies over, 2 more wins in Bulgaria 4-1 and a 3-1 win over CSKA Sofia, then a 2-0 win away to Skelmersdale with an almost youth team, the final friendly was at home to promoted West Ham, we came out 3-1 winners after going 1-0 down in the first half. I think it shows we've improved a bit as I blieve we drew with them last season. Now we have the run up to the first league game of the new season, a home game against Liverpool, the Palace away followed by Villa at home. My top two strikers are injured, but I managed to secure the services of a tasty looking 20yo striker on Arsenals books for a one season loan, he was useless against West ham, but it was his first game so he tired quick. Welll I hope that's what it was. We finshed that game with two AM/RC's playing up front, mind it was those two that scored all the goals. Oh and Arsenal beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Community Shield.

So the league season starts with a bong, we get beat 2-1 at home to Liverpool, they were 2-0 up but we managed to squeeze a goal back in injury time. The striker crisis continues as one comes back severely knackered after injury another is laid low. We have two 2 fit strikers the loan jobbie who despite looking the bees knees is playing like a limpid pile of shoite and one who is really a winger, but ran Liverpoo' ragged when he came on. The best on the books is just back from injury but only 63% fit, so it's a 17yo reserve who will will be on standby for the subs role for the next game.
In the end I relented and put the unfit striker on the bench against Palace, things looked bad when they took the lead on 3 minutes but we equalised straight away from shoite on loan striker who went on to bag a first half hat-trick. We led at the break 4-2, Palace pulled a goal back, then the come back striker grabbed a 5th only to see Palace pull two goals back to equalise before the final whistle. Andy diver Johnson won a penalty early on but hit it straight at the keeper. An exhilarating 5-5 draw, but we threw two points away.
Next up a home game against Villa.

Just two more games to update on, A hard fought 3-1 home win against Villa followed by a somewhat fortunate 2-0 home win against Fulham sets us up nicely for a probable hammering at Mancester United followed by an away trip to Middlesbrough. Those will come in later updates.
Meanwhile we happily sit in 7th place with 7 points, Newcastle are currently bottom, they're the only team yet to win a point, but with Redknapp as their manager what can you expect? :humb:

Nice start to the season there Coffers. Have you tried loaning transfer listed players? The clubs don't seem to mind you doing this, though the players might not come. It's another option.
I played the second leg of my Quarter final in the LAC against Chelsea last night and promptly got pissed off with them, Defoe scoring for fun getting a hat-trick. I think we had two shots off target, but still did ok. I just can't get past the Quarter Final's in the LAC :moop: I seem to only have trouble against the very big teams. I've not lost a game since then, have made the Polish final and won the league. Only three games to go in all competitions and I'm leaving.
Oh, I've finally gained a Continental reputation too.
