If anyone is in need of melee weapons, I believe that Alex's Hardware store in Berritown and SHC in RM are awash with spare stuff.

Good. Got converted back to humanity and proceded to smack heads with me baseball bat. Until some zombie bostord broke my bat with his head. So I'm stuck with a poofy steak knife.

Woohoo! I survived a full regen of my EP with my chappy teetering on 1 HP for the whole length of that time as he run from a zombie just as it was about to take the last chunk out of him.
Yes, I am taking up the slack while Coffers isn't here.

I'm a level 6 human now with four levels in melee weapons and three levels in infection resistance. I just got my 25th Z kill this morning as I got lucky and wandered into a building at random to find three freshly awakened Zeds, (all on 20hp), and managed to kill two before running out of energy.
I spend most of my time teetering on the edge of death, because being dead every night is cheaper and infinitely safer than wasting points on the climbing skill to get in and out of buildings.
It's silly that the game makes dead a desirable place to be, but then it's silly that you can die trying to climb through a ground floor window. While it does, I believe the best early game strategy is to pump up an attack, to make the SP come faster, then pump up infection resistance, so that you can afford to run out of EP outside.
The combination of keeping low HP and higher infection resistance combine to make you safer, as the Z probably haven't had a chance to buy the increased infection skills yet, meaning that if you do get cornered, they kill you before managing to infect you. By the time they've invested in infection, your 70-80% melee chance will have brought enough SP to have finally bought a level or two of climbing.

Yeah. That was my plan.
Unfortunately I got a freak infection early on and spent a lot of my time wandering around uselessly as a zombie, until some kind soul injected me back into humanity.
Now I need a decent melee weapon as I missed out being able to stock-pile them early on. Because I was a zombie.
Agree about death being a bit silly in the game. You should lose SP or smething.™

If you see Bongo around I could probably sort you out a melee weapon. I currently have an axe and a crowbar. And two hammers, two wrenches and two planks. And a 2x4.
And a sledgehammer.

Where are you at then Stoo. I thought I saw a dead Bongo in a pile somewhere but I thought it was Boony.
Shame guns are pants, as I've got a handgun with over 100 bullets. Have a zombie charging at me and I know which I'd rather have between a gun and a fucking baseball bat, I must say.

I'm currently in Gear Co in Mont Royal, with an AFK Zombie.
I'm waiting for my EP to get up around four or five before I have at him with my axe again. I could probably spare a wrench and a plank for you.

I haven't played this yet, Narkle, so it wasn't me. I stole Bongo's name from Stu's NSS character, so he's just stolen it back.

Arsh. Killded a couple more zombies then I got converted. So all that equipment you handed me didn't really help much slut. Still, at least you won't be hitting me over the head with them.

A cunning plan.
Luckily, I have one or two items left in the backpack.
Also, I'm hidden away in the safest place in the game.

Huzzah! Got my first convert to the green horde. Well "green gathering" I guess, given the numbers involved.

Aye, someone on the forum described it " less of a "zombie apocalypse" and more of a "moderate undead inconvenience.""
I just hit level 10 as a civvie. Haven't been green yet in this round. I have 53 Zombie kills and have gone down the scientist route, making my own antidote and have finally got three greens turned pink.
If you wake up with needle point done to your arm, that's probably me, sticking you with the syringe over and over in an attempt to get a 55% roll to go my way.

A plank with a nail through it deserves to reside in a zombie's head.

Converted just in time for the zombies to actually start killing people. So a team starts to do better when I leave said team and join the opposition. Coincidence? I don't think so.

The zombies have been meta-gaming though, organising off game through IM and the like.
Humanity has been ignoring that for a while, but I understand there are two human groups doing the same now.
Meanwhile, I just got my 66th kill and 7th conversion. I'm about 300SP away from getting Master Melee, at which point I'll have run out of skills to buy, aside from the crappy Diagnosis and Recognise Zombie Cry skills.

Zombie Cry? Sounds like it should be some sort of ace heavy metal band that I would like! Why hasn't this been done before?
