I guess he's got chemistry with Brady. Kinda funny that the Pats were all like "nuh-ah we ain't gonna pay you sucka!" and now they're like "oh, OK then."
They need something to give their looks variety. I like their tight ends, but you can't run a 2/3 TE set on every down.

There's also now a lack of height. Brandon Tate is over 6 foot, but that's it out wide. Ian-teresting times, as always.
I like the NFL.

Branch did just fine on Sunday thankfully. I read this morning that he restructured his contract to join the Patriots too, so that it's more incentive based this year. What a nice guy.
The game was a strange one though, the Ravens looked to be doing just enough to win the game without really changing gears. Then once we found ourselves 10 points behind, it looked like we wanted to play and the Ravens were "oh, it's OK, our D will hold them off" but they didn't. The momentum shift was very visible. I'm still not reading too much into the record we now have, as I don't think we're a 4-1 team, TBH, we've scrapped for the wins, but I think our luck will run out and we'll get to 10-6 at best.

The slump wasn't as pronounced, but it reminded me of the Jets-Pats game earlier this season when one team just seemed to hit a wall and run out of ideas.
Amusingly now, the Pats have the tiebreaker over the Ravens who have the tiebreaker over the Jets who have the tiebreaker over the Pats.

"Good news for the Patriots: When the runner hits Patrick Chung, he is almost always going to be stopped cold in his tracks. Bad news for the Patriots: When the runner hits Patrick Chung, he has just gotten to the third level of your defense. Again."

" Good news for the Patriots: When the runner hits Patrick Chung, he is almost always going to be stopped cold in his tracks. Bad news for the Patriots: When the runner hits Patrick Chung, he has just gotten to the third level of your defense. Again." That was awesome. I loved Walkthrough last week with the Alex Smith / David Carr skit, too. In related news: Mike Singletery annoys the piss out of me.

Smith-Carr Was a gem, aye. And that article was right about this play too. Congratulations Mr Childress, you're either stupid and don't know the rules, or stupid and trying to get your Quarterback killed. Which one? The best thing about that Walkthrough the was the comments about the fair catch kick, which I had never heard of before.

I'd never seen the Jets kit before, it looks awful.

Another quality moment from the upstanding men of the NFL as Colts' Punter Pat McAfee was arrested for swimming in a canal in Indianapolis while intoxicated. When asked by police how much he'd had to drink he said "It must be a lot, because I am drunk." I don't think we need to call in Perry Mason on this case.

So what's the big deal about it being illegal to swim when intoxicated, surely that is your own responsibility?

It's not illegal to swim while intoxicated, he was booked for "public intoxication" which is illegal in the UK too. Only it's called "drunk and disorderly conduct."
Intoxication laws are set by the states and not by the Federal Government, so the rule varies from state to state too, which is handy for policemen who like handing out fines.
In California if you're found drunk the Police buy you a pizza and sing songs with you. In Pennsylvania you're tied to a tree and beaten to death with donkeys.
In Indiana you can face a max $1000 fine or (an unbelievable) 180 days in jail. If he'd just crossed the border into Missouri he could have been swimming backstroke up and down the canal with beer balanced on his forehead and had no issue. That's the tricky thing with the states - you have to know what you can get away with and where.

He's been suspended for the games against the Texans after the bye, which is a bit shit.

But you normally only get arrested for Drunk & Disorderly if you are causing a nuisence over here, although I guess you can be booked if you are endangering your own life.

Minnesota have waived Randy Moss. Great use of a third round pick there, Vikings.
How hilarious will it be if Billy signs him again now.
