In preparation for the next tournament, can you all please give me some idea of dates thet you would be willing to put in a show on GloF.
I'm thinking of a winner takes all tounament, based on 18 play rounds possibly either:
1 playing/submitting 5 rounds on one course with the best three rounds counting towards your total, or 2. playing an 18 hole round on each of possibly 5 different courses. Lowest total of the five courses added together wins.
Only main characters with Guild membership can participate. Handicaps based on level will apply. See the handicap thread. I'll have to pick courses that we have handicaps for.
There's 1M NG up for grabs for the winner.
Is there any interest in this?

I'd be up for it, although it depends on the duration of the tournament. FOr instance there is no way I could do the 5 course thing in a week.

I'd probably do it over a 2 week period, maybe a little more.
The format isn't fixed in stone, but I'm sticking with the main character theme. Any suggestions for the rest of t he format are welcomed.
Also I'm considering opening up the guild a little more to a few others, so may have to move forum to another site if we don't want too many interlopers in here.
Any new members outside the 'clique' would obviously have to be vetted though.

No interest at all then?
Nil?
Zilch?
Nada?

It's probably the only way I'll be in second place.

Except I can't win my own Tournament, so you'll win by default.

Ok how about similar format to last time, but this time best score on each of 5 courses are submitted:
1. Rufus: 2. Hela: 3. Forneus: 4. Midas Valley: 5. Gladsheim:
The rules this time though are that you can use any clubs and balls that you like, but no enhancement items in the 3 golf bag slots, other than EXP or NG enhancers.
Also the handicapping system detailed in the Handicap thread will be used.
2M NG for 1st place. 1M NG for 2nd place. 500k for 3rd place.
any one want to add input to this?

That was the idea to get people playing on courses not normally used some of them are quite challenging to say the least.
The level you are at at the start of the Tourney will be the one your handicap is based on.
Moo it might be worth your while trying to level up one level so that you can at least obtain the level 21 Wedges. The level 21 Sand Wedge is slower in the sand, which will be useful on Rufus the orange course.

I think I've done those courses at least once each. I haven't played in a while, though. When do we start? Coffs, I need to pick up some winnings off you. I'm not gonna be around much this weekend, though - weedings and cricket and parties and stuff. Next week is GLoF week! I need to get my eye back in...

I want some suggestions from everyone as to when they can dedicate some time to this. I suspect as it's 5 courses, it will need a couple of weeks at least. Elth is dedicating to Tiger Woods at the Mo, God knows what Stu can fit in.
I've not forgotten the winnings either.

I'm fairly comfortable with time now, and should be able to fit enough rounds in during any two-week period from now to August bank holiday.

I'm almiost at level 21, Coffs. Where would I purchase the 21 wedges? From Salvadore or whatever the fooker is called? How much do they go for, usually?

Yeah, Salvador is the man, I can't remember how much they are, they're probably around 150k each or something.
The only problem you will have levelling up is you will move to the middle tee, so your distance will seeminly drop. I think the handicap may take account of that.

So you would recommend me buying the three wedges as soon as I level up? I think I should have enough cash for that.

I would, only if because they will help you to get the ball to stick to the green better than than the beginner clubs. Also you will need the slow bar the SW gives in the sand for when you play rufus.

I'll play, but I'll need a bit of time. I don't think I have handicaps on any of those courses though If we start it next weekend I should have finished up with Tiger by then, depending on how this weekend goes with time and next week with work.

I just played a full 18 hole round on Hela last night, for the first time and went round in +5, It's a real bar stewrad in parts and, there are a fair amount of water obstacles about. It was the outward 9 that did for me, as I did that in 5 ver, the home bound nine were all done in par. It may have been down to rustiness though as I haven't had a lot of time to play over the weekend, what with helping out with blobs and all.

What say we start this weekend and run it over 3 weeks, will that give everybody enough time to compete and complete?
I'm on holiday for a week at the end of the months so there may be a weeks delay with the final results. I could extend the Tournament to include the week that I'm off.

I bought the clubs, but haven't used them yet. I just about squeezed a level up on the final hole of a 6 hole game with a couple of others, which I won.
Good times.
Hopefully, I'll be able to play through this week.

Aye get some practice in on that middle tee, you'll notice a fair bit of a difference for a coupple of levels. I'll start up a thread in the next day or so with the Tournament details and rules.
