Just switched to Chrome at work and it imported all my Bookmarks.... from home! Freaky Big Brother shit.
In unrelated news, how could Queenie shake that cunt's hand?
Makes me doubt the wisdom of going to see her next week.
Yes, that's right- I got an invitation to the Royal Garden Party next week at Holyrood Palace. Apparently, the Queen commanded her Equerry to invite me and the wife.
Nice.

Check you out!
Perhaps you should ask Her Majesty that question, Pops. I might change the wording slightly though.

I have half a mind too, actually, though I suspect the limit of my contact will be seeing her as a tiny midget in the distance...

I imagine Her Royal Whateverness has shaken the hands of greater twats than that in the name of diplomacy.

About five years ago I was working for Unilever on contract and was in the US for a couple months and got to know one of the VPs quite well and ended up making a wine label for him for this wine he'd made himself that he wanted to hand out to his directors and managers... everyone submitted a picture and I blended them together in photoshop and threw in a couple filters and stuff and sent it off.
The guy really liked it, got it printed and place on the bottles and said it looked really good, blah blah blah, and at the end of my contract he said he was going to try to swing a more permanent transfer which eventually turned into a green card and immigration and all that.
So today I'm sitting in my new director's office going through some stuff with him when I noticed a bottle of wine at the back of his office with a very familiar looking label on it. I ask him if it's custom and he tells me it was a gift from the VP, so I got to point to the corner and show him where I'd snuck in my signature.
That wine label changed my life.

I remember you telling me about this on MSN messenger and thinking it was funny. Someone else had the last laugh though, with his mansion, yacht(smith) and highly paid job for making wine labels.

Was making that wine label just one of those things you did as a favour and not expecting anything at all from it?

Yeah - I was stuck in an apartment or hotel room, depending on the week, with only a laptop for company. Now that I think of it, it wasn't even photoshop, it was paintshop pro...
I played a lot of FM2006 that summer too.

It's funny how things go.
I think we all were playing a lot of FM2006 that summer. I think that was about the last version we all really had a go at. Once you had it set up, you could stay unbeaten for seasons.

So.... you know how I regularly go to South America and tussle with jungles, rivers and snakes?
Well, I requested to hand it over last year as there were so many vols it was taking a month and my other responsibilities were lacking attention.
So couple of weeks ago I officially handed over and trained the last group. With Jamaica having a fallow year, the Overseas Director was desperate to find me another country. He tried to foist South Africa on me (which was 28 vols and I had been passing on 22) but I passed on that one. I have since been waiting with baited breath for the next bid, expecting some little African programme.
It was pitched to me at the bar on a ceilidh night. After my initial "WTF!?" I thought "Yeah, that might work".
A place that never entered my head. Six vols, a ten day visit and no boats.
Japan.
I ask yer.
