Woohoo! An assist for me as we drub some bot team 5-1. When the old 3223 works, it works well.

Meanwhile, Homer is now :
Positioning : 4 Tackling : 3 Technique : 3 Game Vision : 2 Short Passes : 1 Heading : 1 Dribbling : 1 Speed : 2 Stamina : 4
Amusingly, my manager finally noticed that my contract was going to expire at the end of the season and sent me a new one, raising me from $750 a week to $1100 a week, only he forgot to add any years to it.
So I'm now making $350 more a week for a contract that expires at exactly the same point. :humb:

Needless to say I'll be expecting a pay raise with any new contract.

You contract was raised from $750 to $1100 and it runs out at the same time? Awesome I think your manager has a fetish for negotiating contracts.

Enhancement Pack required!
Nice work though, Hornet.
There seems to be some sort of "friendly" tournament being played for U21s. I'm not sure who are in it, but Carlisle are. The only drawback is that we have mostly 21 yo players, with one 20yo DC and the rest are 17 yo trainees. We'll get screwed in this competition, but we'll all get good experience.

In another contract-related post, I've had a new contract given to me, I'm now on £600 p/w (I think that equates to €1200, not sure about the $$$), also with a slut-esque non-extension. However, there is a reason. Our manager has given this to all youth players who have informed him vis the friendlies threads that they have set their IOs. In other words, if we've noticed how things are done in the team, then we're rewarded.

I'm playing in a friendly tomorrow, which looks like it might be a regular occurence.
Jarrin Carr
Short Passing 3 Tackling 3 Long Passing 2 Positioning 1
Hopefully I'll pop positioning later this week, and then next week I'll be going after Stamina and whatever they've changed the team training too. Stamina will be on Tuesday so early next week is stamina training.
Moo - IOs? Is this when you put forward a good idea that benefits the team? Or start playing well for the team?

Another assist for me as we beat someone or other 3-0. We're currently 2nd in the table and there we shall remain as the best team has won all their games and has 44 goals for and 0 against.

Naturally, given that I opened my account for my career last week, my manager decided to capitalise on my good form by giving me 90 minutes...
...in goal.
Well, it's one way to get an extra striker on the pitch, I s'pose. Are you watching, KevvyKeggy?
It actually turns out to be a significantly less-mad decision than it seemed at the outset, I keep only our second clean sheet of the season and we get a 0-0 draw against Birmingham Sports.
(Birmingham sports, for the uninitiated, include Joyriding Grand Prix, Freestyle Boredom and the 100m Having A Stupid Accent.)

Two pops in a day! w00t!!1!
Nothing for the ten before that mind, but whatever. I played last week in some friendly or other and I'll be playing in the DM role in the forthcoming Cup game too.

Homer is now : Tackling : 4 Positioning : 4 Technique : 3 Game Vision : 2 Short Passes : 1 Heading : 1 Dribbling : 1 Speed : 3 Stamina : 4
The U18 national manager wants me to switch to tackling 100% when I'm not training fitness in preparation for the world cup next year, but he can fur cough, as I'm not gipping my player training at 75% every day just so he can have something other than his cock to polish.
Meanwhile, Hermann is : Technique : 6 Positioning : 3 Game Vision : 3 Long Passes : 2 Short Passes : 1 Crosses : 1 Dribbling : 1 Speed : 2 Stamina : 1
I am a lower division Jan Molby.

I had 8 positioning training sessions in a row, including a team training day inside this, and still didn't get a pop. The 9th was a fitness training session, which was just to keep me in the 90's as you train better in there. and don't cop any penalties. I'm hoping to get a least a pop in stamina now, as that's what I'm training, with a team one included today as well. Position, tackling, short passing, technique, game vision, stamina and speed are what I'm going to concentrate mostly on now. Throw in long passing and dribbling once the first stat reaches 10.

I'm traveling to Switzerland to play a friendly. Fancy.
I have a question about all your teams weekly training set-ups; how are they structured? Do you have 7 different types of training, one on each day? Or do you have say two blocks of the same training in a row, and then rotate every other week or something? I've been thinking about this, as I'd have been better off on a bot team if I train at 75% instead of the 100% if I always choose the teams training. That would mean that I have very scattered stats which isn't what my aim is. So, what do you have?
Incidentally, my team has 7 different days of training.

My manager isn't the most hands-on guy in the world so we've had the same training schedule for the last month. It's something like
Mon = technique Tues = positioning Wednes = finishing Thurs = stamina Fri = tackling Sat = short passes Sun = nuffink.
So I team train on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and I'll do some on Saturday or Monday if I don't have to train fitness. I think I train Speed or anything else I like the look of on Wednesdays.
I think I'm doing something wrong though (probably training fitness at the wrong time) because my stats are Tackling 4 Positioning 4 Short Passes 1 Stamina 4 Speed 2
I should really switch to being a centre back but that costs training and requires the manager to play me there. Which he won't do as he only uses one centre back.

So it's all kicked off in the US forum. The (now former) u18 manager was a bit of a canute and made mistakes in two out of his first three games got in a strop and started shouting at people, so his players threatend to remove their international availability and effectively go on strike. So then a kerfuffle kicks off in the forums, the guy goes from defending himself, to just quitting as manager and then changes his mind again and decides to run for re-election, but then changes his mind again, again and resigns from rerunning for the position he resigned from. He then starts talking on IRC about how he's going to sell a lot of his players on his domestic team, keep a core of four or five players and lose for a while before restarting around their core. This pisses off all of his players there and they kick him out and he ends up signing for a team in Scotland. Yes, his own players on the team he was paying to manager kicked him out. Anyway, in the long string of threads about all this I refuse to miss an opportunity to kick a twat in the balls so I had a pop at him and through that several other managers have become aware that I'm available on a free (because I mentioned it ) and now my manager has come back in with a new contract offer, raising me from $1,100 to $2,200... but he's forgotten to add years to the contract again. Meanwhile, the former U18 manager restarted his account, burning a player with about 45 skills on £8,000 a week in Scotland and restarting "secretly" - only all of his forum posts in his former name have changed to show his new name, so we all know who he is again. Just when I was running out of interest here too.
