So do I.
I was trying to lighten his mood. We all know they are combining the two roles and it's already earmarked for moo.

You would say that Moo, you're applying for the other position.

They've made a demo of me being laid off? How exciting.
Oh, I forgot what this thread was "really" about.

Amazingly, I've been called in for a second interview for the job I probably can't do.
I'm sure it's just some elaborate joke to get me to come into the office twice in one week.

They will definitely know what your face looks like now.

I've seen his face and the only reason they called him back in is because they culdn't believe they saw someone that ugly.
Sorry Narkle, the Cuba was badly timed.
In more related news, I DLd the demo yesterday™ and was then "upset" that I couldn't play the game because my gfx card is just 64mb, rather than the 128mb one needed. You need the extra for the 3D, obviously, and there is an option in the game to turn that off and just have the 2D. However, I can't get to the option without a 128mb card.....

From amazing to alarming as they've offered me the job, which just goes to show how far you can get in life by sounding like you have some clue what you're doing. Still, at least I have six days of blind panic to look forward to before I get into the role and the bullshit gene takes over.

Nice work, fella. What the hell are you going to do now? Does this mean talees of your from Jez Bandersley and Dr FOF are going by the wayside now?
Excellent, because they were both shit stories.

Aye good work slut. Yer bostord.
On the other end of the scale I've written my first application letter. A painful process that only took about 2 hours of my time. At this rate I should have a job by 2019 - just in time for the zombie apocalypse to strike.

At this rate I should have a job by 2019 - just in time for the zombie apocalypse to strike. It might come sooner than you think, given that they are now trying to clone mice from dead mice that have been frozen for 16 years. Them buggers will be damnably hungry after all that time on ice.

I love this thread. The release of FM2009, and our current employment issues, running side by side.
Is anyone actually going to buy FM2009? The demo's out now, aye?

Demo was out on Sunday morning, Boo, aye. I can't buy it until I get a new PC with a much better gfx card than I currently have. I read that CM09 isn't due out until April '09, so that isn't an option.
I've also seen mixed reviews from the SpInG LLM lot who are doing beta testing, as a lot of the transfer related stuff isn't really helping GR teams as much as it should. Overall though, there's a lot more positives for the game than negatives, which knowing the LLM lot is a big deal. They're usually more moany than me and Narkle are.

I didn't buy '08, the first one I haven't bought since the original CM3, I think, and I'm pretty sure I won't buy this one.
For one, my PC definitely isn't up to it. For two, I think I'd rather wait until they release the definitive version, like CM0102 was for the CM3 series. One with no gripes about training, tactics, transfers, scouting, player development, match engine, etc etc. I don't know if this will happen, though. Each release seems to fix some problems from the previous game, and add in a new set of features which start off buggy and get fixed in the next installment. Repeat, and rinse.
Am I right, or is my impression of the series tainted in some way? Does FM2009 look like being a definitive version? Or have we already had the definitive version of dot$, with later versions just obscuring the view?

One with no gripes about training, tactics, transfers, scouting, player development, match engine, etc etc. You'll be waiting forever then. I severely doubt 09 is going to be definitive in any shape or form. Seems like SpInG are continuing their course of adding bells and whistles without addressing the underlying problems that have been there since the release of dot$.
