I see these games as training my seconds team. Unfortunately I forgot that we don't have a game this weekend, and put in my second string side. Yay. Still, it does hopefully mean that they'll be slightly better when I slot some of those into my first team when I reshuffle my side next season. Some I'm playing in defense are actually better midfielders and crap defenders but getting better.
I'm not sure which league I"m going to be put into. There are apparently three leagues I could be slotted into. Only one of them I have any chance of actually staying put in. The leagues are: V.122 or V.246 or V.193. V.122 is the one I want to promote into, as I could finish 5th if everything goes well.
When does all this go ahead? After next weekend? Or the week after that?

I think there's a week break then a cup game mid-week then the start of the season, if memory serves.

It was my second team too, Sonic

So apparently, I've promoted into v.193. I'm not sure what to make of this. I'll have to overachieve by the looks of things to stay up. Though the teams aren't as good as the ones I was in in the league I was previously relegated from.

Mid table's about all I can hope for this season as well, I'm afraid. One of the promoted teams is a bot though...

www94.hattrick.org/Common/cn.asp?action=view&threadid=11442501&number=1Recently the good old Split Oceania? debate rose its head as it has a tendency to do every now and again. It has been a while since we sought the wide scale views of the Oceanian community and opinions may well have changed so we have decided to have a poll. Please note the outcome of the poll will by no means guarantee a change. We merely want to see how people's views have come along and whether general opinions have changed. We have also only included the 3 options which are feasible. Feel free to discuss the 3 poll options in this thread however should you have a desire to discuss options which are not listed please use the recent thread (11390960.1). There are 2 important points to think about when making your vote. Firstly, if Oceania were renamed to Australia and New Zealand was created as a new league all current NZ users would have the option to keep their current teams however they would have to choose a new region (there would be no penalty for changing region). Managers who wanted to start in the new league would be given the option to leave their current team and start a new one straight away. They would not have to wait the usual 7 weeks in this instance. The second point is if Oceania remained and Australia and New Zealand were created as new leagues the same thing as above would apply. Managers would be given the option to leave their present teams and apply in one of the new leagues without the usual 7 week waiting period. Oceania would be retained for the Islands and all new managers signing up from Australia or NZ would have to start in the relevant league. Lastly, we acknowledge that the most preferable method would be to move current teams to new leagues however it is a logistical nightmare and is not feasible to do. There is no possibility of this happening. If new leagues were created no teams would be moved.

I won my cup game last night, but now the league nightmares begin. Oh, how I'm not looking forward to 14 humpings here. I might have to sell one of my defenders to try and get a decent midfielder though, just to give me a chance of a point against someone.

There's no way I'd bin my current team just to move to Australia. It's not like the league names mean anything.
In other news, a comfortable 5-0 win over a bot in the Cup means I'm off to some other shitty side next midweek. Joy.

I'd want some compensation if that was the case if I had to bin my team.
Now, starting another team, that's a different story. Stu, how did you manage that again?
In other news, I beat a bot team 3-0. I'm in a quandary now, as I think I can win the first three games of the season. What I'm not sure on, is who to play where. I think I'll play my highest stated players and go from there. Maybe one of them will move into midfield, and I might only play one forward too until I get enough to buy a decent forward. That or do what Moo is thinking about, sell a defender.

Sign up for one team while in one country and then another when in another. The HTs make sure that your IP matches the country you're trying to make a team in. You could go through Firefox and Vidalia to get a foreign IP, but that's assigned at random. I used it to make a player on Footstar, but ended up with some guy in China and couldn't understand what the fook was going on.

Well, if you knew anyone who lived in another country you could ask them to get a team for you and then hand you the keys. I think if you had two teams in the same region, you'd be under a lot more scrutiny from the GMs.

There can't be that many people overseas. Could there? Do you think there might be a chance I do know someone who could?

So, er, went all out and bought a really classy central defender. A$3.1m or so for an Outstanding defender with Inadequate playmaking. The little runt's only 22 so he should do me for a fair while, and will probably end up as my captain as he's got decent leadership. A nice buy considering Hattrick was crashing and I didn't even realise I'd won

I splashed some of the cash yesterday myself - my most expensive purchase ever at just over £2,200,000 - He has "Super Natural" scoring though and the "unpredictable" special that I like for one of my forwards. Sold Unpredictble forward Hans Josef Fasching to bring in the extra cash for the new guy, as Fasching had dropped to outstanding scoring. So now Bismarck's forwards are called Hubert van Zudert and Alberto Alberquerque.

I'm delighted that I bought a player with oustanding defender.
Stu sold a guy because he dropped to outstanding scoring.
Fuck you, man! Fuck you!

I know have an outstanding playmaker, and and a formidable one too. It didn't help me much, possibly because they are both over 30. My excellent playmaker replacing one of them came off the bench to show me that he is a 4 star player. I'm training his defending up, and it's currently on inadequate. He's close to going passable. I was going to look into how much it costs to buy a player and send him to a coaching academy to get his abilities. One has Magnificent experience with weak leadership. I think that if I can get their form up, then they'll perform better. Time will tell and it might already be too late.
And to the weekend? It went great, if your talking financially. I have a 32,000 seater stadium, and we only attracted 24,000. I did make $480k though, which was great. Unfortunately we gave the home crowd a great 4-0 loss to view. They were ahead by the 3rd minute, and then again in the 8th I think. And this is a team the fans thought we were 'favourites' for. Yes. Really. It looks like I'll be building again this season. As long as the gate receipts keep coming in in that nice little packet :humb:

Soundly beaten 4-0 away in my first game in level V, I think when they had a man sent off, that was my salvation, as we kept it at 4-0 from then on. So my tactics should be to get someone sent off from their side before we get on the pitch, then we might have a chance.
At a draw.

The Germans won their first game back at level 5 4-0 thanks to a brace from new star forward Alberto Alberquerque.
Chita also won in their return to DivV, 3-0.

I am out of the cup. I think I could have won this game if I'd stuck in my starters. I only lost 2-0 at home too, but think that he training was a better idea. 19,994 people turned up too. I feel form my fans at present.

Bismarck won their cup game 5-0 against a team called "Beaver Lovers", which is nice.
I play a team with two six star forwards in the next round, which are going to be too much, even for my defence.

I'm quite annoyed.
I was beaten 2-0 away to a level VI side but when I looked at the players picked, it appears they were mostly reservists, in other words, my "friendly team". I'm certain I chose my first team when I was on there at the weekend.
Hey ho....
