The Russians also won their cup game last night and I suspect somewhat surprised their opponent in the process. 1-0 was the final thanks to a goal from pacey Macedonian Sami Shaipi; his third goal in the two cup games so far.
Amusingly, after going up a goal on their more illustrious opposition, Chita then proceeded to kick a couple of his players in the nuts, injuring one midfielder with 46,240 TSI and a defender with "only" 2,100.
Best thing is that The Trainyard sold out with 31,231 fans bringing in $189,000 which isn't shabby for the 50/50 split of cup game revenue.
Next week the stadium should sell out again to see Chita get their arses handed to them by a team with three seven-star forwards.

I'm starting to get annoyed with training defenders. Anyone who goes in the left back spot just doesn't seem to get any type of training at all.

There was a bug with left back training, but it was fixed about six weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the extra-terrestrial midfielder Lokochita bought at the end of last season popped to Titanic yesterday after just two weeks of training. Which means he'll be sold sharpish as he'll be wanting roughly $20,000 a week from his birthday tomorrow.
German Javier Logering also popped playmaking to outstanding and will be straight on the market, hopefully drawing higher bids because his passing, defending, set pieces and scoring are all inadequate.
Chita paid $22,000 for Logering and should see $1,300,000 in return. As soon as Swede Ivar Hagerflod hits formidable he'll be gone too. Hagerflod arrived at the same time as Logering but his form has been consistently bad, so he hasn't played as many games, being odd man out often. He came in for $21,000 and should bring about $650,000.
The sales should put Chita's balance to about $4,000,000 which will be spanked either on an uber-goalie or an unpredictable forward.

There was a bug with left back training, but it was fixed about six weeks ago. It sure doesn't feel like it. I'm tempted to swap over to PM training. I don't have the set-up though, so I'll persevere for now. First thing I need to do is get myself one of these fandangledly decent strikers that you have Stu.

Eruption's gained their first points of this league, winning handily 4-0. Unfortunately, they injured one of my defenders for 3 weeks. Luckily next week is a week where I won't need him. It's going to be interesting this league, and I think I might even be able to stay up. I get the feeling that if I do, I will be staying up afterwards too. I guess it will depend on who I will either have to play off too, or how my form in the league goes.
In other news, I pulled a passable finishing 17yro too from my youth set-up.

I had a 4-0 home victory. A disappointing 13,500 or so fans turned up of a 32,000 capacity. It seems that our loss in the cub hurt more than it should have as to the crowds turning up, considering we were never going to win.

Which is a shame, as both Bismarck and Chita have lost their last two league games and gone out of the cup.
Fortunately, all of the losses were expected, but both will need to put in a performance in the next game to stop the crowds from disappearing.
Bismarck's first league loss was especially annoying, as we held the league leaders in the first half, scoring a goal on the counter to go into the break 1-0 ahead, despite only have 23% of the possession.
In the second half the Germans' great stamina meant that they improved from 23% to 34% possession, but despite this they somehow allowed five goals, including four in one three minute spell. Bismarck will change from the counter to pressing away from home from now on, in an effort to starve the opposition of chances and steal some 0-0's away from the Shipyard.
Both teams are also in slight transition periods, having sold first teamers in training positions, leaving the German defence and Russian midfield understrength.
Chita also weren't helped when they brought in a magical forward who was injured in his first game.
Both teams are the sixth best in their respective division, so I'm still confident of sealing a relegation playoff, but it's going to be a hard season.

I might do that with the pressing this weekend, as I'm playing the best team i the competition. I'm mixing up my midfield around, though that hardly matters when their's is still much better than mine.

My lot were beaten 2-0 in the league. I never thought we had much of a chance in this level and it's proving difficult.

I don't know if you've seen these articles or new features before:
Extended youth system grace period The grace period to operate both a youth academy and the old “youth pull” at the same time will be extended to August 31. The reason for this extended period is that we simply will not have enough time to develop a “closing window” and test it properly before the summer holidays. Because of that we find it much better to do this properly after the summer holidays instead, even if we promised an earlier date to end this grace period.
See the My Hattrick announcements from April 25th and April 2nd for more info.
Individual training instruction You can now exclude up to three players from the normal skill training. These players will only train the stamina share. This feature can be useful if you got very skilled players and want to avoid them from getting higher salaries.
To give a player an individual instruction, go to your training page and click on "Individual instruction" under the "More options" tab to the right.

Milburn FC were beaten 6-0 yesterday. In stark contrast to last season where we didn't concede a league goal all season, this time, we haven't scored yet.

Lokochita were in all sorts of trouble as they sold off three midfielders, only to have one injured and another sent off in a friendly, meaning they had to send out a central defender and a youther alongside superstar Jim "Julian" Clary this weekend. Fortunately it proved to be enough against the bottom side and the Russians won 2-0 with two goals from defender Steven Kaasik.
The Germans nearly got caught out in their game. Playing at home against a side that normally run out in a 4-4-2, they were surprised by a switch to a 3-5-2. Normally against a 3-5-2 Bismarck would play the counter to increase the number of chances earned, but weren't expecting it and so barely got a sniff in midfield and scraped a 1-0 win.
Both teams will probably regret not getting bigger wins against the divisions weaker opponents, but can't really worry about goal difference this early in the season.

Eruptions pressed the best team in the comp and where duly humped 5-0. To say that they ever turned up was an understatement.
Unfortunately, things don't get better the weak after, as Eruptions travel to the second best team. I'm expecting an extra goal or two. I think this time I'm going to use counter. I really don't have the forward line to dent a feather.

I played it cool against the best team in my competition and still only got done 4-0.
Get one of the worst teams up next week, so hopefully I can kick into gear and start getting results because I'm stuck in 7th.

I was beaten 2-0 yesterday, so am still without a point or a goal. My defence seems to be OK, stars-wise (looking on alltid.org) but my midfield is woeful. I have to upgrade there if I'm to get a point, which is now my objective. I might even try to sell one of my good strikers to finance a midfielder and then play 5-4-1, just to try and get a grip in midfield for two minutes per game.

Well I was beaten 4-1, even taking into the half time break a slender 1-0 lead. Annoyingly, they injured one of my defenders(the one that scored), and I had placed a far inferior sub in the defenders slot. Gah. I wonder what would have occurred if I had of put a proper sub in. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have made a huge difference, as their double 5 figure strikers would still have scored.
Next week looks to be an interesting affair, as I'm playing either the 3rd or 4th best team in the league.

The Chitans were beaten in an odd one where they controlled the ball, the opposition didn't play counter and the Russians still fell over 4-1. Fortunately, it really shouldn't stop Chita coming sixth, so no harm no foul.
Worse happened to the Germans though - away from home to a tough side we banked everything on the pressing instruction and it worked really well. Of course, it would have worked even better if I didn't get a forward sent off after just four minutes. :moop:
With ten men we held out until well into the second half before allowing a goal and lost 1-0. :moop: again.
