Who is it? I know they were struggling with a guy called Arrington (I think) but he may have been cut already. If it's someone else, I might snigger again.

Didn't realise the Vikings were so far under the cap. Couple of teams surprise me by being there to be honest, like St. Louis.

Who is it? I know they were struggling with a guy called Arrington (I think) but he may have been cut already. If it's someone else, I might snigger again. LaVar Arraington took the unusual step of buying out his own contract a few weeks ago, for about $9m, making him an unrestricted free agent. If the new CBA hadn't gone through then he would have been out of pocket. As it is, he's a free on a market that just got a 20% rise in available spending at a position that's becoming more and more important in the NFL as the 3-4 defence returns. For a guy who often acts like a wingnut, he's pretty smart. Or lucky.

Adam Schefter must be reading my posts, yes he must - snatched from NFL.com
I am just sooo ahead of the curve.

Edgerrin to Arizona? Hasn't he seen what happens to running backs in Arizona recently?

Edgerrin to Arizona? Hasn't he seen what happens to running backs in Arizona recently? :cab: I thought you were joking. Just read this on fanball.com and they reckon it wouldn't be a bad move, if Arizona had an o-line worthy of the name. They said "they've signed a castoff from the Houston Texans and considered this an upgrade" which tells you something. Good luck, Edge.

Err, except that an "official" at the Dolphins has also said that they're not interested in Culpepper. You can say "ahh, they're just saying that", but then you have to apply that to all of the other officials too. It appears we have more faith in Drew's bad arm than in Daunte's bad leg.

Just read this on fanball.com and they reckon it wouldn't be a bad move, if Arizona had an o-line worthy of the name. Edge tried to put a positive light on it "They have two pro bowl receivers, and Kurt Warner at QB - all they needed was a back". Err..no, the reason they throw the ball so much is because they're chasing wins, and because they can't run the ball in the first place. Silly poof. Nice. Err, except that an "official" at the Dolphins has also said that they're not interested in Culpepper. You can say 'ahh, they're just saying that' but then you have to apply that to all of the other officials too. It appears we have more faith in Drew's bad arm than in Daunte's bad leg. So do the Vikings. Brees to Vikes, Culpepper traded out - win win for the Purple People Eaters.

So do the Vikings. Brees to Vikes, Culpepper traded out - win win for the Purple People Eaters. Yeah, I'd read that too. Brees will visit the Vikes after seeing the Dolphins and Saints this week. If we suddenly see Gus Frerotte looking for a new gig, then expect an announcement that Saban's pulled the trigger on a Brees deal. We can't carry Frerotte and his $4.5m tag for this season, just for him to be a back up, which means we'll have Sage and Lemon on the spice rack sidelines again this season. I can’t honestly see any reason for wanting to play for the Aints this season, unless an obscene amount of money is involved, so I’d have the Vikes in front of New Orleans for Brees’ signature.

I'm still wondering where Eric Moulds thinks he's going to end up. San Diego was my only real consideration for him (Cleveland and The notOwensless Eagles being in there I guess), and he seems to really be pushing the eject button.
I'm still waiting for what is supposed to be happening with T.O. for that matter, though the Cowboys are obviously rather keen on him.

Moulds to the Patriots for a season.
As a linebacker.
Because Bill says so.

Well, there goes Culpepper. Let's hope his knees hold up behind what passes for our offensive line. Saban apparently got bored of waiting for Brees and his agent to make up their mind over the money in New Orleans or the "winning platform" (?) in Miami.
A second round pick though? For a player his team didn't want? Ah well, it'll either be a steal or explode hugely in our face, I suppose.
I have faith in Saban... errr...

And now Brees has signed a six year deal with New Orleans.
In an ideal world, Daunte's injury will turn him into Joe Namath - a tough pocket passing leader, working on dodgy knees, while Brees' injury will prove to have planted him in the Chad Pennington school of weak-armed nancies and then I won't feel too bad.
Anyone want Gus Frerotte? Anyone?
Fancy buying him on delayed delivery too? As Daunte probably won't be ready to start until the end of next season? No?

Told ya. Njer ne ner ne ner ner.
Surprised to see Brees in NO though...especially as their porous O=Line wont be any tougher minus Bentley. So where's Aaron Brooks headed? Browns, Arizona...?

Hmmm. Joey Harrington, I feel sorry for the bloke I really do. NFL.Com have just done a hack job on his career:
A td a game, 186 yards and for me looked like he was maturing really well in 2004, he had new weapons in his arsenal, the foundation was in place to construct something exciting. Then they decided to bring in Garcia, just to completely fuck in his confidence. The lack of any like a cohesive offence, poor offensive line which continuously let him down nor helped get the running game established, perpetually injured trio of WR - jeez.
This bit made me laugh:
3000 yards, 19TD's? Kitna managed an average of 3000 yards and 20TD's and threw as many as 22 INTs (and only once didn't average at least an INT per appearance). The less said about Josh McCown and Shaun King the better. There are quarterbacks who have made a career out of 3000yard, 20TD seasons. Jim Kelly for starters (and he had Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed to fall back on on), I'm not sure Boomer Esiason even got near that total after his couple of good years, and then there's Phil Simms who even has a Superbowl ring (where big scoring Marino and Moon don't) and Kerry Collins.
I especially like this bit of the review:
Charlie Batch? Scot Mitchell? Andre Ware? Rodney Peete?
Aside from Ware, who was never given the opportunity to my memory, and Mitchell (who had one stellar season, and was at least competetive otherwise) I'm not sure I would put Peete and Batch in the same bracket as Harrington. For starters I'm hard pushed to consider 2 out of the 4 as 'promising', or even identify them as Quarterbacks.
Harrington - Couch. Shocking similarity in treatment, and I still can't believe Couch hasn't got at least a back-up role somewhere in the league yet that fucking donkey McCown does. At least the Texans realise its not the fault of their QB they're so shit.
Couch, Brooks, Harrington, Collins, done not much wrong but play for shit teams.
The NFL is such utter utter bollocks at times. And now they're looking greedy eyed at the next bunch of 23 year olds they can hand the multimillion pound reins of a franchise to.

Meh. I was miffed. I was reading a review of Cutler, then watching a feed on his prospects, throwing motion, excellent fade ability :cab: yeah, right. To sum up it basically was word for word exactly what they said for Couch, Harrington, Carr etc.
Wouldn't mind, its not like Harrington is Ryan Leaf -and he must be better than Kyle Boller. My gran is better than Kyle Boller (though she's a former all-pro tackle for the New England Patriots).

Sometimes the media just dislike some people though. I hope Harrington gets a job soon, even if it is clipboard carrier, because that would annoy Stu. And that can't be bad.
