Bush to the Saints, Vince Young to the Titans.
If the Jets don't take Leinart, then he could be the next Aaron Rodgers, sliding down... If the Jets don't take him and then the Cards don't go for him at 10, then the Rams are sniffing at 11.

Vince Young goes to the Titans, as a few people predicted. The lad did his best to say he admired Steve McNair which is a nice touch.

Oh and watch for Charley Casserly, who just picked Williams over Bush to be sacked. Soon.

With the fourth overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the New york Jets take........
Please make it someone silly.
........ D'Brickashaw Ferguson.
Good choice. Smart choice. What the fuck are the Jets doing?

Listening to the atrocious Sirius radio broadcast. Apparently being in a position to draft someone as "good" as Leinart might happen only once in five years...whereas having an offensive line in order to prevent the absence of your already high quality QB's saves the hassle of having to look for a new QB every 5 years.
They make it sound like next 4 years drafts will be devoid of QB's (as opposed to the now perennial collection of 2 or 3 quality QB's) and/or that The Jets wont be able to get a suitably poor enough pick to take a QB. Tossers.

Green Bay on the clock and I still have them going for AJ Hawk, with the Niners nabbing Vernon Davis. Then Oakland - I think they would have creamed their pants for Vince Young, but if they want a QB, they want one with a deep arm and that ain't Matt Leinart.
So do they pick Cutler? If they go elsewhere because they're happy with Andrew Walter learning behind Aaron Brooks, then watch out for Buffalo trading down, knowing they can still get their 3-4 Nose Tackle lower than #8.
Once a few teams learn there's a sniff of Leinart or Cutler then there'll be movement all over, even from Phoenix at #10, who won't want to see a passer move off the board before they get their chance.
The Rams want Leinart or Cutler, but won't trade up to get him, because they don't want to send that sort of message to Marc bulger. They'd love to have someone behind Bulger's gimped shoulder though.

Tossers. Yeah, I think the Jets took the best player available, which is most un-Jets-like. One team thus far has drafted for need, rather than talent, and that team is the Texans.

Oakland wont take a QB. Art Shell didn't sign Aaron Brooks to play kiddy coach to two prospects. I don't see why they'd stretch for Cutler with the QB turnover that there is in the league. They'll go Defence surely, because their offence is developing.

Linebacker AJ Hawk to the Pack.
Can I land three-for-three and have Davis going to the Niners?

Mmm, I've nailed every pick in the TTH version of this thread so far but then I have a good source. Can't see the Pack passing on Hawk next.
And I for one applaud the Texans for picking Williams over Bush. As I noted in the TTH thread, few teams win Superbowls with top 5 draft picked RBs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them go elsewhere, now Vince Young is gone, but Davis is a fucking loony.

And they didn't. I think everybody on the planet projects Davis to the 49ers though.

C'mooon Oakland - skip on the QB's! Go for Huff.

Huff is definitely an Al Davis player - as is Ernie Sims. That'd make things interesting too, as the Lions lurrrve Huff.

They have to go for Huff, he can play any defensive back position.
And Sirius are now agreeing with me. Copycats.

Detroit now. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go for a QB just because they're ghey. But Winston Justice and Sims would fit in well also.
Whoops. It's the Bills even.

Bunkley? They need help on the defensive side of things.

Post by DC on Apr 29, 2006 17:22:16 GMT
Bunkley would be solid for the Bills. There was much criticism of the Bills defence last season, but the real collapse was on offence for them. However - stuffing up the middle would be a good move and help protect the overworked linebackers.

Sorry, I don't see what they gained by picking Whitner. That's the first blow-out for me. They had a chance to take any number of any Defensive Tackles, or Linebackers to assist Spikes and co - but an undersized safety? Ouch ouch ouch.
They could have taken a QB just to piss off the people getting excited lower in the draft.

I think they projected Huff there and then when he went to the Raiders, they kind of got caught short and picked the closest player they could find [/groundless speculation]
