You can get bounties cleared by the Thieves' Guild for a discount, from memory.

I got loads of quests completed over the weekend and killed off the Camara Tong bad guys too, lots of bounties had to be paid off at half price, a fair few quests were completed and new ones added. All in all it was hectic and i visited new areas of the map. I made it to level 7 too and need to take stock of my next moves. I can't progress the Thieves guild quest until I can open a chest with a level 65 lock, I can open up to level 60, with magic.
I can't cpomplete athe next mages guild quest as the quest give ris missing until I complete the thieves guild quest. I joined the Imperial Legion so could look at their next quest or complete the House of Hlaalu quests I have 2 on the boil. My standing with some Thieves guild members went down after I killed the Camara Tong members, I'm not sure why as the two factions hate each other. Oh well each to his own.
The nice touch was one Hlaalu quest which involved killing a Kwarma Queen in an Egg mine, After being given teh quest I spoke to the mine owner he gave me 1000GP to leave it alone, but I killed the queen anyway and got 500gp from the quest giver plus praise for being a devious bostord.

A little outing to complete a quest I'd been given by the house of Redoran failed as it seems though they gave me the quest I can't complete it because I'm not a member. The upshot was I came across a damsel in distress en-route and offered to help her find her lost ring in a pond, it was apparently a family Heirloom. It took an age to find what turned out to be a cheap trinket and, when I did finally emerge covered in pond-life, she and her chameleon charmed friend started attacking me. I was being mugged by a couple of ladettes. Fook this for a lark out came my spark sword and I charged into them, the damsel in distress was easy meat, but the almost hidden partner was hard to pin down, continually moving and part camouflaged she tried to keep her distance from me whilst pinging me with arrows. She wasn't doing a lot of damage but it was mounting slowly. After an epic struggle I finally laid on the killing blow. Whilst the general booty was pretty low level, I did end up with a nice Ring of Shadows, giving me the ability to cast 80% chameleon spells on myself for 60 seconds a shot. That will be very handy in the sneak stakes. I tried it out on a member of the general public and though He didn't see me he felt my attempts to pickpocket him, shouted you thief, you are reported and ran like fook because he couldn't work out who was doing it. It still didn't stop me getting a 25GP bounty on my head though. That was cleared at the Thieves guild. I spent the rest of the night conjouring up skeletons, soul trapping them and then killing them to get loaded soul gems for selling on to Creeper.

I think the next task will be to lay a heavy persuasive arm on a Guar Trader to buy Guar hides from the House Of Hlaalu rather than our enemies The House of Redoran or someone else.
This should be relatively easy. However I do need to quickly get loads of money to boost my lock pick skills so I can sort out the outsatnding looting of teh Ald'Rhun Mages Guild Quest. That will open up the chance to finish the quest given by that Mages Guild too. However I think that will drag on and on for a long while yet as I really need a huge boost to my security skills.

No gaming last night after yesterdays stint at work, if I'd had to look at a computer screen I'd have thrown it out of the window. I was within an inch of cracking up by the time I stood up shouted fuck it at the wall and then walked out.

Loads of quests completed last night some ending quite not how they were intended to. 5 House of Hlaalu quests were completed, these were all quite easy, the first 3 of them were pushed through with bribes, that meant that my Mentor in Balmora was all out of quests,m he told me to talk to Crassius Curio in Vivec to get sponsorship to go further. This I did and the old bugger is a bit of a pervert. In order to get sponsorship I had to strip completely in front of him well down to my loin cloth anyway. The path he then put me on was to spy on a corrupt member of the house, the governor of Caldera. I had to go and complete tasks for said Governor but inform Crassius Curio of what he was up to. The first task in this spying business was to deliver a dodgy sealed message to the treasury, which I delivered to Crassius Curio, this netted me a nice sum of gold and Crassius Curio ensured a doctored version was delivered to the target so I wouldn't be found out. The second task was to retrieve some stolen mine contracts deeds from a thief in Caldera, again easy enough to track down, the thief handed them over to me and begged me not to kill her as I'd lose face in the Thieves guild. I didn't kill her but took the contract to the Governor, unfortunately I made the mistake of telling the governor the thieves name, this would come back to haunt me later. The next task is still in progress: I have to replace some 'erroneous' land deeds with fake ones in the Hlaalu Records Office in Vivec. This will not be done without consulting the gay spy-master, something smells fishy here. In pursuance of the above tasks I came across a pilgrim who asked me to escort her to a shrine for 150GP, I readily agreed, but this was the other task that went badly wrong, I ran too fast for her and nearly lost her, stopping and turning back I saw her running down the path being followed by a cliff racer. I ran back to engage the creature and dispatched it after a bit of a struggle, however when I turned around the pilgrim was gone, then I looked at the floor, she was actually dead. So one incomplete task that will never be completed, however I did loot the body and got more than the agreed fee. It was during these tasks that I discovered I could unlock quite high level locks with a Masters lock-pick, so I went back to Ald'Rhun to complete the looting of the Mages Guild. It was at this point my previous actions came back to haunt. When I returned to the quest giver with the object he desired he thanked me and paid me my fee, unfortunately he now refuses to give me training unless I am a higher rank than him and order him to do it. All because 'I turned in the Guilds best spy' fook. At least he's still giving out quests. My next task was to steal a House of Redoran Helm from a heavily populated bedroom in a Redoran manor. Now that might be tricky. I scouted the premises first to find where i could pick up a helm without fighting for it. once it was spotted on top of a cupboard in a room full of guards and a Redoran noble, I stepped back outside. My sneak skills are crap but combine them with my Amulet of shadows and I might just be able to do it. OK firing off the 80% Chameleon spell from my enchanted amulet I went into sneak mode and entered the room, no one paid me a blind bit of notice, the helm was grabbed, and tempting though it was to lift more loot I didn't tempt fate and made off with my prize. My current guild mentor was pleased he shelled out the fee, but still won't train me. He gave me another task to go back to the same place and Steal a naughty little girl's book.. Why didn't he say before, I could have done the two in one trip. I'm leaving that for a little later though. Having completed the quest to loot the Ald'Rhun Mage's guild I decided that I could now complete the outstanding Mage's Guild Quest so off I went, the quest complete I was asked to return a book I'd stolen earlier, this was done with ease as it was a quick guild guide hop to Vivec and a hop back. This resulted in gift s of nice amulets to teleport me out of really tricky situations. It was at this point I was told to seek another mentor until I reached the level of Conjurer when I could return for more tasks. In amongst all this Greyson leveled up to level 8 and is becoming quite a strong character now. Time to take stock of my outstanding tasks and decide what to do next.

I joined the Imperial Legion over the weekend and completed loads of Legion tasks, including solving a murder and killing the murderer, rescuing a kidnapped pilgrim, Thwarting a renegade cult threatening the Emperors life and killing the conspirators. rescuing a tax collector illegally imprisoned in a Mage's dungeon and also cured an Kwarma Queen from blight disease. Lot's of loot was netted too. Oh and I also provided another guard captain with some scrap metal so he could win a bet against another captain. Lots of loot was collected on the way too. My next legion task is to rescue an Imperial Priest who has been kidnapped by renegade Ashlanders. The only problem with these legion Tasks is that they don't pay well, I have to make up the shortfall from stealing and looting. Mind that is usually pretty lucrative. I also made it to level 9. Some of the off-spins from some of these quests have been to find some strange artifacts and plans, which I'm sure are part of later quests, so these have been stored off in one of my abodes for safekeeping until they are needed. Oh and I also made a Smuggler pay his dues to teh House of Hlaalu and looted 28 pieces of raw Ebony from his ship's hold in the process. I have found the power of bribery is very handy for loosening tongues and persuading people to do what is right, I have also found that taunting people is damned useful in getting them to hit you first so that you can kill them in self defence. Bribery helps raise someones disposition to you so that you can taunt them longer and get a better chance of a reaction. Once you have killed them you get your bribe money back

Reguarding my levels for each of the groups i've joined:
House Of Hlaalu - I've attained the rank of Kinsman (level 4) Imperial Legion - I'm at the rank of Imperial Champion (level 4) Imperial Cult - I'm at the rank of Layman but have done nothing for this lot yet. (level 0) Mage's Guild - I'm an Evoker (level 3) Fighter Guild - I'm a Journeyman (level 2) Blades - I'm at the level of Finder (level 3) Thieves Guild - I'm a Blackcap, but all the club leaders don't like me as I turned in their best spy. They still give me jobs though. It's just they woun't train me or barter with me. (level 3)

I added two more levels to my character last night, he's now at level 12. That was after completing two Fuighters Guild Quests, which takes me to the Guild rank of Swordsman, plus 3 Mage's guild quests no advancement there. During the first two mage's guild quests I meet my first Daedra a Frost Atronach, as a random encounter on the road. At first I was a little worried but I needn't have been as the stupid thing just continually tried to kill me with frost spells, unfortunately for it, I am 100% forst resistant. So I slowly walked up to it and belted the living daylights out of it with my trusty silver longsword. The quests were reletively lucrative if somewhat easy. But the most lucrative part of the night was two incidents regarding assassins, trying to attack me whilst I slept in the Balmora Mage's Guild a supposed safe haven. I needed those spells of rest as you can only level up by resting when you get the message that you should meditate on what you have learned so far. The assassins were reletively easy to kill but did some damage to my health, However the armour they left behind brought a tidy sum when I sold it in the fighters guild. I didn't have to taunt anyone last mnight so no humans were killed other than the assassins.

Actually I completed 4 Thieves guild quests too and am now looking for the next mentor for further quests. Of the 4 missions two were to steal things which were a piece of cake with my *0% Chameleon amulet and two were retrieve a book and some scrap metal, which I already held in one of my hovels.

I've spent exactly 30 minutes playing Morrowind since I got back and not a lot got done, I moved up a level whilst trying to complete a debt collection quest, so had to jump back to my home base to rest and actually receive the levelling benefits. I hope to get some game time in tonight.

So a 2 hour stint last night saw me complete one quest, I decided against the debt collection and went for an outstanding House of Hlaalu quest to help some fellow house members depose a rogue House of Telvanni Mage who is holed up in a remote cave/tomb on the South East side of the Island. Apparently one of the group had been captured and imprisoned by the mage and I had to recue her and reunite her with her sister.
I had brief details of the location and took a silt stridert to Molag Mar, then it was a long trek east from there. Long because I had to do a lot of wading and swimming to get to the peninsula it was on, not only that there appeared to be a lot of randomly generated creatures who slowed my progress. It seemed to take an age finding this well hidden location, but I eventually stumbled across it, I had probably walked past it 2 or times in my wanderings.
Apart from the survivors there seemed to be endless leveled Undead and Dremora inside the structure and at times I was battling 3 at once. There were plenty of rooms and tunnels to work my way through and it was a good job I had a good supply of healing potions as at least 5 times I was on my last legs in the heat of battle.
I eventually fought my way to the mage and he turned out to be a much easier proposition to kill I loaded up with all the more expensive loot that I could carry, obtained the dungeon key and released his prisoner. Escorting her back to her sister was no mean feat either as more Undead and Dremora appeared in areas that had previously been cleared, but this time tehre were two of us fighting which made teh return journey a little easier. With the sisters reunited I cast a recall spell to teleport myself back to my home base where I sorted the loot out, before selling on what I didn't want to keep.
Taking time to rest in the Balmora Mages Guild I gained another level and am now at level 13, at that point I saved the game for the night. I will need to go back to the cave as there is plenty more loot lying around that I couldn't carry especially the shields and weapons of teh defeated unded etc.

I reached a point where I didn't even bother carrying most of the loot as it wasn't worth the effort of loading it up when I got bugger all gold for it. The old Diablo II trick of "it ain't special, I ain't carrying it" worked well.
But you obviously haven't reached that...
Carrying strength boosting potions is a pretty good idea for looting too, as you can load up a lot higher and then cast your recall whilst boosted.

If I have time and am not in a rush to get a new quest going I slowly gather loot up into one pile, then when I'm ready to move, pick it all up and over encumber myself massively before casting the recall spell, It's then dumped on the ground in my base to be sold as and when i need some Gold. But I am not that far off being not too worried about looting unless the items are special. The easiest way for me to make cash is to summon a skeleton and casting a soul trap on it before killing it. Selling and then selling the inhabited soul gems to Creeper. I'm about ready to head to the next main Quest which involves traveling to a remote Ashlander camp in the far north to find oout how the Naverine prophecy relates to me. I just need to report back to my last quest giver regarding last nights actions in order to finalise my payment for the success of the mission and reputation points. To be honest I have left piles of mundane loot (Weapons and Armour) all over the place over the last few quests and have lost track of what is piled up where. I'm starting to become a little selective on what quests to undertake too as I gear up to a push down the main quest line.

I'm finding the main quest quite interesting though I do keep getting sidetracked by various guild quests. I finished teh visit the Ashlander camp quest at the weekend and ended up with a nice magic bow, the next in line on the main quest line is the quest to clear out a Sixth House stronghold near Gnaar Mok. I did some minor quests for the fighters and Mage's guild too and racked up some nioce gold by selling some loaded soul gems to Creeper. Unfortunately I wasted teh Grand Soul Gem in an enchantment which went slightly wrong as I chose one wrong option so ended up with an enchanted sword which didn't actually work. The spell workks on touch rather than strike. Back to the drawing board. I'm now at level 15 and can deal with most undead that I've met with no bother, though I still find the crypts and tombs very creepy. I've made it to Defender rank in the Fighters guild now.

A good 4 hour stint last night saw me wade through a fair few side quests for various guilds, I completed 4 Mage's Guild quests for Skink-In-Tree's-Shade (4) at the Wolverine Hall, mainly fetch and carry stuff, though the last was an assassination of a Guild Member who turned to Necromancy. Shhh don't tell anyone I conjure up the odd undead soul to do soul traps on. I finally advanced to the rank of Conjurer which opens up some more quests from other Mage's. I have 2 Mage's Guild Quests in progress. Next up I went for the fighters guild quest, the first of which was a long outstanding one to steal a book from a fellow thief. That didn't go well as my pickpocketing skills failed me; not only did I get a small bounty on my head, but I was expelled from the Thieves guild. Still the quest complete I moved onto more fighters stuff. One debt collection later and the assassination of a outlaw Orc saw me progress to the rank of Warder in the fighters guild. I now have 3 Fighters guild quests on the boil from different Guild leaders. So there is plenty to keep me occupied. I've cleaned out two caves of low level bandits two as a sideline along the way. Now what to do about the Thieves guild, I headed off to Wolverine Hall and the Village surrounding it and managed to persuade the guild leader there, Big Helende to give me another chance, for a fee of 1000 gold drakes. Expensive yes but access to the people who remove bounties on your head is very useful. Following the reconciliation I helped Big Helende steal a potion recipe for a Mage's guild contact, my next quest is to steal a Grand Masters Retort from some alchemy in Tel Mora. Apparently they are very rare and hard to come by. So let's hope my sneak ability doesn't let me down this time. In amongst all that I moved up to level 16 and made a lot of money by selling potions which I made in a long alchemy session. Much of it was spent again making an enchanted set of Exquisite pants, which fortify Intelligence and luck for 25 points each for a short duration. This should help me make better potions in the long run when I indulge in alchemy sessions, thus giving me the chance of selling them for higher prices.. Oh and I went and paid for the small bounty to be removed from my head too, that not only meant I could talk to guards again without fear of having stolen goods seized, but it stoppe dthe girl I stole teh book from, from attaicking me every time I walked past her in teh Balmora Thieves guild club.

A two hour stint last night saw me complete a strange quest, whereby I returned a cheap plate to it's owner, I only got it as teh plate was described as nnnnn's plate, so asking around Pelagiad I got some directions to where the owner liver, she was grateful but there was no reward, that is until I noticed that talking about the plate to Pelagiad inhabitants after it had been returned resulted in their disposition towards me becoming much more friendly. It was at this point that I seemed to have attracted a female Kajit admirer and sort of agreed to dispose of a Camonna Tong member who has been threatening her. She considers me a very special friend and has given me quite a lot of useful information so far.
However that little job will have to wait, I came to this area to question a farmer on behalf of the Fighters guiild, who is having trouble with some rogue Orc's. It turned out that north of Pelagiad meant north of the lake which is just north of Pelagiad. SO one long trek later I come accross shrine which I pray at offering some Muck seeds to the gods. My prayer is granted and I recieved a blessing of feather for effectively a game day, this means the weight of my inventory iis considerably lightened for and I can carry more stuff. The farmers hut is just to the east of the shrine and he quickly divulges details of the Bandits whereabout an old Deadric ruin containg a deadric shrine to the north on the other side of the mountain to his hut.
After a little bit of trouble climbing over the mountain range I quickly found teh ruin but was attacked on numerous occassions by cliff racers, scamps, Frost and Fire Antronach's, a Hunger (which did some nasty damage to my weapons and armour bfore I killed it) and an Ogrim (it was huge but stupid as I had teh high ground and just killed it with fireballs and lightening strike as it struggled to reach me up an unclimable slope) before I found an entrance to what appeared to be the upper levels of the shrine. Time out to retore my health and magika with some potions. I had a non magical silver sword at the ready and entered, turning the first corner I was immediately attacked by an Orc, a long hard fight then took place as I struggled to overcome my opponent, I needed to imbibe another health potion during the fight otherwise he would have killed me with ease, however he finally sucuumed to my blows and slumped to the floor, the orc turned out to be the leader of the group and looting him netted me some good quality armour and weapons. This area of the shrine was empty apart from that orc, and there seemed to be no way down to the lower levels from here so I headed outside to see if I could find the rest of the band, tehre were at least 3 more to kill, although teh farmer said that killing the leaded should force teh rest to eventually leave the area. No way that was going to happen I was having too much fun fighting some hard battles.
Heading outside I encountered yet more scamps, cliff racers and Antronachs before I eventually found another door in amongst the lower ruins. swaffing potions again I restored my health and magika and headed inside. I was quickly confronted by an orc fighter and his strength put me on teh back foot for a while, the silver sword was obviously not doing enough damage to end the fight quickly so it was another long drawn out afair, but the orc again fell to my sword, this one was almost naked so there wasn't a lot of good stuff on him apart froma Dwarven shortsword. Moving along the corridor I moved into a large room containing the huge deadric shrine, but I noticed a movement to my left followed by the usual cry of you will die Outlander, as I turned I saw a flash of light as the Orc invoked some magic, dressed in robes he was obviously a mage of some sort, so wasting no time I ran towards him to lessen the time he had to cast spells, changing to my Spark Sword I waded in and the Orc died quickly, before I could loot the body the last orc appeared from behind me and started an attack, I turned in time to block teh blow and another orc bit the dust. Between these two orcs I netted some really good loot including an Ebony Staff worth 7000 Gold Drakes, Nice! It was time to inspect the shrine, apart from a few assorted alchemy ingrediants, I picked up an emerald, a diamond, a ruby and finally a pearl. As I picked up a pearl I heard a stange whooshing sound behind me, turning quickly I found myseld face to face with a Dremora Lord, time for a quick swig of restore healt and the battle began, thankfully the creature only got two hitts on me whilst I was slashing away merrily and quickly so as to keep the beast on the back foot, thankfully it soon returned to it's maker leaving behind a Daedra's Heart and it's weapon, which come to think of it was actually the ebony staff.
Taking stock I was over encumbered by this point so invoked a recall spell to get me back to home base with all my loot intact. I sorted out what I wanted to keep and what was to be sold and made my way to the fighters guild, selling off the armour until the trader ran out of money, reporting back to teh quest giver I received 500 Gold drakes and the next quest to clear out a gang of smugglers in the Mannammu caves South east of Pelagiad.
No time for that now I needed rest, in doing so I gained another level so am now at level 17, where i left it for the night.
That was by far the most satisfying quest so far in the game, the fighting came quick and fast and tehre was plenty of it, not to mention a few hairy scrapes where I just got to swig my restore health potions just in time.

Owwww, I've just been looking up details about ebony staff's on the morrowind wiki and it can hold more enchantments than other staffs in the game, as well as being worth 7000 Gold Drakes. Damage wise only a deadric staff is better, and that is by a smidgen.
Now that might be an item worth enchanting if I decide to keep it.

The only problem with ebony is it's stupidly heavy, although that's not such a bad thing with a weapon, you need to be an utter tank to handle a full suit of ebony armour.
Although I suppose you could enchant it with feather or something.

An item of armour with a constant effect Feather enchantment would be would be nice.
To be honest I'll most likely sell the staff, but will hold it in storage whilst I ponder on that one. The only reason I was thinking of keeping it was that ebony weapons can hold decent enchantments as weapons go.
It's a pity, but addeing enchantments to items doesn't seem to increase their vaule, so it's not worth doing unless you want to keep and actually use the item.

Yeah, but to be honest once you get to the point of having anything worth 5,000+ gold you're going to struggle to sell it for value anyway. My house in Balmora is literally covered in magical stuff that I'll never sell.
Once I got the Umbra sword I never bothered with any other weapons
